ABH SOFT GLAM PALETTE (& COMPARISONS TO MODERN RENAISSANCE)

Say hello to the new love in my life - The Soft Glam Palette. As soon as I saw this palette I knew I had to have it. ABH is one of my favourite makeup brands and their Modern Renaissance palette is one of my cult beauty products and since the Soft Glam is in the same formula as it, I knew it would be a winner straight away.

Let start with the packaging and it is the same style of the Modern Renaissance palette with the velvet outer but this one is in a soft nude shade to match the theme of the palette, although velvet isn't the best to keep clean. It has cardboard packaging but is it still sturdy and comes with a mirror to help if you're on the go. It also comes with a a great double ended brush with a flat brush to pack the colour on and a fluffy brush to blend.

The shade selection for the Soft Glam includes lots of sultry earthy tones to help create a dark smokey eye or a softer everyday look. There are 14 shades in total with 5 intense shimmers and 9 ultra-matte shades. ABH are some of mythical favourite formula of eyeshadow as they are super pigmented but also blend so nicely and last all day. The shades are:

Tempera - Ultra-matte velvety beige
Glistening - Iridescent gold
Orange Soda - Matte pastel peach
Rose Pink - Rose gold with a soft pink iridescent sparkle
Sultry - Warm chocolate brown
Bronze - Metallic gold bronze
Mulberry - Ultra-matte berry
Dusty Rose - Ultra-matte dusty lilac
Fairy - Shimmering light gold
Burnt Orange - Ultra-matte deep orange
Sienna - Matte earthy brown
Rustic - Ultra-matte deep cinnamon brown
Cyprus Umber - Ultra-matte dark coffee
Noir - Ultra-matte deep carbon black

My favourite shades are Glistening as it is a gorgeous lid colour as well as a perfect shade for an inner corner and brow highlight. Rose Pink and Bronze are two very pretty metallic shades that are buttery and creamy to apply and reflect so beautifully on the eyes. Dusty Rose and Rustic are my favourite matte shades, Dusty Rose is a gorgeous lid colour with a shimmer added on top and Rustic works really well to shade the outer corner.

In comparison to the Modern Renaissance palette it has the same amount of shades with the Modern Renaissance palette having berry themed shade selection with neutral shades to compliment those reds and pinks. Soft Glam is more gold and bronze shades and it does includes some of the same shades as the MR palette, these include Tempera, Cyrpus Umber and Burnt Orange. However, these are great matte shades that work well with lots of looks and I use a lot.

What do you think of the Soft Glam palette?!

  1. This palette looks gorgeous! I just think it's a shame that some of the shades are the same. Obviously, it's not the biggest problem, especially if you were a fan of the duplicate shades.

  2. I hear endless raves about the ABH palettes and I am still yet to try one. I think its time I take the plunge and finally pick one up.
