CHRISTMAS GIFTS | MAKEUP MINIS

I love this time of year for makeup releases as brands tend to bring out mini versions of their bestsellers and you can try a products before committing to a full size. Minis are also great, because if you're like me and have a lot of makeup you rarely finish products before they pass their sell by dates and so minis mean you can use them up quicker and not risk them going stale. This year I have picked up quite a few mini sets and so here is the run down of them.

I love Huda lip products and this has all of her lip products in one funky lip shaped tin. In it you get a full size lip contour and mini versions of the liquid matte and lip strobe. The tins come in 4 different shade selection and the products included are all colours that compliment each other.

The Jouer sets have really wowed me this year and as you will see I picked up quite a few sets. I went for the nudes one because obviously nude is my favourite lip pick. this set contains 8 minis in matte or metallic finish. My favourites are Papaye, a metallic peach, Dulce De Leche, a cool nude, Naked, a warm fawn nude and Tawny Rose, a dusky mauve.

This was an obvious purchase for me as I love their lip toppers and this contains mini versions of all of them. I already own Skinny Dip and Rose Gold so I have back ups of these and it also comes with best sellers like Frost Bite and St Tropez and and new shades Staburst and Sugar Plum.

I had a bit of an issue when ordering this from Cult Beauty that I now have both sets. The first trio includes the original highlights Topaz, Citrine and Rose Quartz and the second trio is Skinny Dip, Rose Gold and Ice. I love the formula of these and the shimmer is so blinding when on the skin.

I haven't really tried much from Cover FX but I spotted this mini highlighter on the Cult Beauty website and thought it was worth trying. The shade is Moonlight and its a soft golden peach shade, I really like the shimmer of this and it radiates on the skin.

I have been wanting to try Buxom lip products for a while and I had a voucher for Debenhams and this set also had 10% off so I made the purchase. This contains 15 mini lip products, 7 lip polishes and 8 lip creams in varying shades, including nudes, pinks, reds and purple. So far I have tried one of the lip creams and they definitely have a plumping effect and make my lips tingle.

I got a mini version of the Opal highlighter as a freebie from Cult Beauty but the mini set tagged is the perfect way to try the products and a great stocking filler. In it you get a mini pressed shimmering skin perfector and spotlight shimmering skin perfector. Opal is a golden  peach tone and the Becca highlighters are some of the most shimmering I own.

Luckily these aren't just a Christmas release and I think they are now permanent which is great! These palettes are only mini by size as the actually eyeshadows in them are full size and you get 9 which is good value for £25. There are 4 palettes and the smokey is definitely my favourite. The formula of these eyeshadow is so pigmented and they blend so well.

Have you picked up any of these minis this year?

  1. I've also bought myself one of the Jouer Powder Highlighter Trios and am loving them! Such a nice formula! I was tempted by the mini lip sets too but have managed to resist so far...
