MAYBELLINE X GIGI JETSETTER PALETTE

As soon as I heard Maybelline were releasing a collab with Gigi Hadid I knew it would be a good one. This palette was released about 3 weeks ago in an online exclusive with Boots and it sold out pretty much straight away but I managed to grab it. The rest of the collection is available now from Boots and Superdrug and I'm already eyeing up some of the products.

There has been a lot of stick for the price of this palette and admittedly £29.99 is quite expensive for a drugstore products but in my opinion you get a palette full of the perfect everyday shades. In the palette you get two concealer shade, two lip shades, 4 eyeshadows, a blusher, highlighter and bronzer, and also a face and eye brush and finally a mini version of their colossal mascara.

For starts the packaging of this palette and the whole collection is such a gorgeous powder pink, which is so much different from the usual colours you get in the drugstore. The palette itself is quite large and bulky so not the most perfect for travelling but it feels nice and sturdy.

The left hand side of the palette features two concealer shades, one is pretty much perfect for me but the other is a little too orange so I probably wouldn't use it, it may work as a contour shade for paler people though. The next two are lip shades, a soft peach and pop of pink. Both of these are more like a balm for me as the pigmentation isn't great. I probably wouldn't get much use out of them as it would be hassle to carry the palette around to reapply.

The next four shades are for the eyes and yes they are pretty basic but they are everything you will probably need to create a simple but lovely eye look. The first shade is a satin white shade that is perfect for highlighting and adding some shimmer, then you get a soft pink that is the perfect eye base colour. The next two are more intense shades, with a dark chocolate matte and a charcoal black matte. All of these would create a natural everyday look or a more intense smokey eye.

The final section of the palette is for the face and obviously I will talk about the highlighter first since I am a junkie for the shimmer. The one in this palette is an intense peachy pink shimmer that you definitely only need a small amount. The bronzer shade is a warm brown that can be used lightly all over to warm the face or as a more intense contour shade. The blush is definitely a stand out shade and as you can see from the swatch it is very pigmented and bright which would probably work more in the summer months.

The mascara included is a mini of the Colossal Volum' Express mascara which is one I actually haven't tried, but it gives you lots of volume with a fast fibre brush to coat every lash and give that wispy look.

Will you be picking up any of the Gigi x Maybelline collection?
