FULL COVERAGE FOUNDATIONS

Now that we are in full blown winter with the darker nights and cold weather is very much acceptable to wear my most full coverage foundations again. This is a dream for me as I love and need full coverage but in the summer months it can be too much with the heat. Today's post will feature my full coverage collection and my thoughts on them.

Maybelline Superstar 24 Hour Foundation | £9.99

I have been really wowed by this new drugstore foundation and I would actually say its better than some high end foundations I have tried. This is full coverage and completely hides all of my imperfections but it is still creamy on the skin and not at all heavy. The clue is also in the name of this that one it stays in place all day and for me that is definitely true, I can wear this to work and at the end of the day it still looks flawless.

Tarte Double Duty Empowered Gel Hybrid Foundation | £30.00

This isn't my favourite of all the Tarte foundations I own but I don't hate it either, one of the things I don't like about it is that its in this pot so I always end up with too much on my hands and brush. This is a gel formula so really hydrating on the skin and leaves a sexy finish, this does need setting with a powder to stop creasing and setting into lines. One thing this would be good is those with oily skin as it is oil free and so wont add any more to the skin.

BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme | £34.00

I got this in a Becca set and didn't really know much about it before however, its one of the most full coverage foundations I own. This is quite thick formula but it isn't cakey as it contains 22% water and 21% pigment to help cover everything. I tend to use this is my skin is feeling really uneven as the level of pigment conceals that instantly.

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation | £5.90

This is the one out of the post that I really would not call full coverage, despite the name. For me this is a light to medium cover and whilst it is better than their serum counterpart it isn't what I want. These have high pigment levels which is why they say its full coverage but the formula is still very watery and lightweight and I find that hinders it covering all my imperfections. One good thing about this is that it comes in 21 shades and some even feature a gold highlights for a radiant look.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full Coverage Foundation | £30.00

This is definitely my favourite Tarte foundation as its amazing coverage and has that semi matte finish that I love. The clay formula makes it seem very thick but I actually find that once on the skin it is breathable and the wear time is amazing. I like to use this with a fat buffer brush as it is the only way I can get a flawless finish and it all blended in.

LA Girl Pro.Coverage HD Foundation | £11.00

If you are looking for an amazing but affordable foundation then you need to try this one. This is a creamy formula and a little goes a long way to cover all imperfection and uneven skin tone. Compared to other picks in this post this has a satin finish that illuminates the skin rather than a matte finish. The creamy formula is also hydrating and doesn't cling to dry patches at all.

What are your full coverage foundation picks?

  4. I love the LA girl foundation. Its one of my favourites. The only thing I don't like about it is that it transfers on everything. My class notes, clothing, surfaces, EVERYTHING

  6. The LA Girl is a foundation I've been trying to pick up for ages, I've heard that it's such a great full coverage one even for those with drier skin because it is, like you said, more of a satin finish! xx
