Autumn is probably one of my favourite seasons for lipsticks as I love all of the autumnal shades and paring them with outfits. Instead of lipsticks I thought I would solely do liquid lipsticks as they are massive at the moment and everyone loves them. I probably favour liquid lipsticks over actual lipsticks as long as they don't dry my lips out too much or end up looking patchy, so I'll be talking about that in todays post.
For some reason on the swatch below you can't quite see the pinkness of this lipstick come through but in person it definitely does. Windsor Rose is pinkish nude that had a natural look but you can still tell you have a lipstick on. The formula of these is one of my favourites, it has a light texture that dries down matte but doesn't dry out my lips. The wear time isn't for hours but its good enough for me and when you reapply it doesn't look cakey.
These are a new collection from Nyx and is a similar collection to the Lip Lingerie but instead these are a lip oil, so intensely moisturising for the lips. It has a lightweight and luxurious feel but still lots of pigmentation and a semi matte finish. Entice is a dusky purple pink shade and the perfect everyday shade for autumn.
Unfortunately I don't think the metallic lip paints are available in the UK yet but hopefully they will arrive soon or is your heading to the US pick some up. What I like about these metallic lips is that they are still very natural and don't look too over the top. Smoldering Eclipse is a dark purple shade with a slight shimmer to it and it dries down matte.
I think the shade I have linked below was limited edition so I have linked a similar, I got mine in a mini trio so I'm guessing it was limited to that set. These liquid lipsticks are quite thick on the lips and they can end up looking a little cakey if I keep layering them on it can end up looking patched so I have to be careful. The shade is a deep mauve pink nude.
Now onto the more traditional autumnal shade being those plum shades. These Bourjois liquid lipsticks were some of the first liquid lipsticks I tried and I bring this shade out every autumn. These are lightweight with a velvet finish and super long lasting. Plum Plum Girl is exactly that a plum shade but more muted that too bright.
Of course I had to include a traditional nude shade as they are just my type of colour and I will wear them all year round. This one from Lime Crime is one I used to love but haven't used for a while, the finish is velvety but I still find these to be moisturising. Buffy is a cool tones nude shade that is the perfect shade for my skin tone.
Although these are said to be matte in my opinion they really aren't and still have a shine even after drying down. However, I actually quite like this as you get all the shine and feel of a lipgloss but the intense pigmentation of a liquid lipstick. Passion is a berry red shade that gives an instant pop of colour.
This is probably more of a festive shade but I love deep red tones when the weather is colder. Mary Jo K from Kylie is a blue tones deep red shade that I find is perfect with my blonde hair. I have to say the formula of these isn't my favourite as they can be quite drying and end up patchy if you apply to many layers, however, I can live with it and just need to wear a balm underneath.
What are your autumn lip picks?
