I recently did a post about the new in makeup products I had and now its time for skincare. I tend to stick to favourites on skincare but I still love trying new products and especially ones that have some interesting claims. Todays post features both products I have bought and ones I have kindly been gifted, there are stand out products and some that didn't impress me that much.
T-Zone Charcoal & Bamboo Range*
Peel Off Mask | £4.99*
I love peel off masks and find them so refreshing on my skin, even though I don't suffer too much with blackheads or congested pores, its always nice to use one of these to clear my skin out. I have used this a few times so far and to be honest I found it so painful to remove, i'm not sure if I have been putting too much or too little on but my face is so red after using even though it does feel clean. I will persevere with this and keep trying and hopefully I can make it work for myself.
Nose Pore Strips | £5.99*
These were much more of a winner for me and it's my nose where my pores tend to be the worst so these are great, still painful to remove but not as bad as it being all over my face. This like other pore strips hardens once dry and then you peel away to draw out any dirt and impurities from the pores.
No Shine Papers | £2.99*
I have never used no shine papers before but these are a bit of a life saver and help keep my makeup looking flawless and not at all shiny. I keep these in my handbag and if I nip to the toilet or topping up my makeup i'll blot these on my t-zone to get rid of the oiliness.
Monu Skincare*
Active Cleanser | £21.00*
This is a brand I have yet to hear of but I'm so glad I have been able to try this range out as the products are so lovely and my skin has felt amazing. This cleanser literally removes all make from my face with ease but is still gentle on my skin. In contains Calendula to deeply cleanse and purify the skin and Jasmine essential oil, aloe vera and coconut oil to soothe, nourish and moisturise the skin. I tend to use this as a second cleanser after removing the bulk of my makeup and it gets rid of all stubborn bits of makeup I couldn't remove first time round.
Active Toner | £21.00*
I'm not normally one for toning my skin and its a step I often miss but this spray version allows me to do it with ease. It contains ingredients such as neroli and petitgrain that both revive sluggish skin and reduce oiliness in the skin. I apply this before my moisturiser in the morning and its freshens up my skin.
Skin Perfector | £25.00*
I love this stuff as its both a moisturiser and primer in one that smooths out my skin for the best foundation application. The cream is moisturising but weightless on the skin and so perfect for everyday use. It contains ingredients that all promise to smooth, plump, prevent ageing and just help the skin appear healthier and younger.
Soothing Hawaii Facial Oil | £29.50*
I love facial oil and apply one every night so it can work its magic overnight, this one sinks into the skin easily and doesn't increase the oiliness. It contains lavender which helps sooth the skin and the smell also helps me sleep at night.
Dr Botanicals Rose Superfood Facial Oil | £42.99*
I tried their overnight mask and I was very impressed so I had high hopes for this and its been so dreamy to apply to my skin. It's a facial oil but still very lightweight and sinks into the skin quickly. It contains high levels of vitamin c to increase collagen levels and vitamin a to even out the skin tone. This has such a pretty fragrance and helps my skin appear healthier looking.
Spacemasks | £15.00 (pack of 5)*
I saw these all over Instagram and they intrigued me so much, its basically a mask that warms and alleviates strain on the eyes, which also helps calms you down and relax. It's the perfect thing to use after a hard day at work to help you get to sleep. I really liked using this and found myself very sleep after so it did its job. As its heats up it lasts for 15 minutes so i'm sure everyone will be able to fit it in around a busy schedule.
L'Oreal Blemish Rescue Mask | £7.99*
I picked up one of the first masks L'Oreal brought out and really liked it. I dont tend to use clay ones very often as my skin can end up feeling dehydrated after using one but they are great if my skin is feel congested or oily. This one specifically targets blemishes and contains marine algae extract which is known to help eliminate blemishes. After using this my skin feels clearer.
The Body Shops Drops of Youth Liquid Peel | £18.00
I saw so many people rave about this I just had to get it. The way it works is actually disgusting but so satisfying at the same time and I have been loving using it. This gently exfoliates and peels away dead skin cells, impurities and residual makeup. All you need to do is gently rub this into dry and cleansed skin and you can straight away see the dead skin peel away. I find it pretty gross but so satisfying and love the fact that you can literally see it working.
Soap & Glory
S&G recently launched a whole collection of face masks and have followed the trend of sheet masks, so I obviously had to pick some up to try. My favourite so far has been the What A Peeling! De-Clog Mask (£4.00), this is a peel of mask as you may have guessed, you get two pots and one pot is definitely more than enough to cover your face. It comes in this great pink colour that is much more fun that the boring black ones you get. The others are The Fab For Pore-Refining Sheet Mask (£3.50), Bright + Beautiful Radiance-Boosting Mask (£3.50) and Speed Plump Miracle Moisture Mask (£3.50), they all help combat some of the skins biggest issues in sheet mask form so you can sit and relax with one one. The final newbie in the mask collection is Puffy Eye Attached Under-Eye Brightening Hydrogel Patches (£3.50) and you can imagine these help ease tired eyes.
