HOLIDAY LIP, CHEEK AND NAIL PICKS

It may be coming to the end of the summer and with the recent weather we have had its more like autumn. However, I'm still hoping for a bit more of summer and i'm heading to Mexico at the end of September so i'll be in holiday mode until then. I find the easiest was to change my makeup in terms of seasons is my lips, cheeks and nails and summer is all about those bright and shimmer shades.

LIPS

Topshop Charmed Lipstick | £8.00 (similar linked)

For me summer is all about bright lip picks and this neon pastel orange shade is a great one for enhancing a tan. Topshop do some of the best affordable lipsticks in my opinion and the formula of these is pigmented with a semi matte finish and creamy to apply.

L'Oreal Red Actually Lip Paint | £6.99

Red is definitely one of those all year round shades but I like this one as it has more of an orange tone to it so works well on tanned skin. This is one of the matte finishes but I actually find them very comfortable. They are also have an unusual shaped applicator that really fits to the shape of your lips.

Benefit Cha Cha Balm | £15.50

I actually picked this one up in duty free before a holiday and wore it non stop. Its great for every day use as it moisturises the lips and adds some colours, I do wish it had SPF in it though. This shade is a peachy coral shade so a perfect holiday lip colour.

Jouer Papaye Lip Creme Metallic | £15.00

I love the Jouer lip toppers and they are amazing for summer over a lipstick to add some sparkle but this metallic shade is so pretty. It's a more intense shimmer than the lip toppers and this is an iridescent peach shade. They have a slight sheen to them and are comfortable to wear.

CHEEKS

Nars Orgasm Blush | £23.00

For me this is the ultimate summer blusher, its a coral shade with a shimmer to it that looks lovely on the skin and shimmers in the sunlight. I find this formula of this is quite powdery and you get quite a bit of fall out in the pan.

H&M Cotton Candy Blusher | £6.99

This is definitely a summer blush pick as I really don't think I could pull this bright pop of colour off in the the winter. As you would expect this is a vibrant cotton candy pink in a matte finish so it doesn't quite shimmer like Orgasm. As its such a bright shade I don't put a lot on so its not too OTT.

Topshop Let Her Go Blusher | £9.00

Another shade that I rarely wear in winter as its just so bright and works better with tanned skin. This is a neon orange matte blusher with a lot of pigmentation and it picks it really easily onto he brush so you need to be cautious.

NAILS

Essie Bottle Service Nail Polish | £10.95

Obviously a bright colour is the nail choice of summer and I tend to go for pinks, oranges and corals. This shade by Essie is a vibrant pop of pink. I do find with Essie though that you need a few coats to get that opaque look but then it tends to last for a while.

Barry M Mango Nail Polish | £3.99

These Barry M gelly nail polishes are some of my favourites as the formulas quite thick but lasts for weeks without chipping. This colour is a little more out there than i'd usually but I do like this pop of orange. I find that an orange like this really enhances a tan.

Roxanne Campbell Sitting Pretty & Off To Jamaica | £10.00*

When I got the chance to try some of these nail polishes out I was immediately drawn to the bright shades and these both jumped out. Sitting Pretty, a bright pink again but more purple tones to it. Off To Jamaica is a peachy orange shade. These are both by a nail expert with years of experience and you can definitely tell as the formula and wear time is like you would get at a salon.

What are your nail, lip and cheek picks for summer?
