YOUR LIPS BUT BETTER PICKS

I love lipstick and I own way too many but for everyday use I stick to a really natural shade that just enhances my natural lip colour. This post is a selection of those shades in lipstick and liquid lipstick formula although for everyday use I like to favour a moisturising formula as my lips can get so dry. Here are my your lips but better picks.

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity | £11.00 

In terms of matte formula this is one of the best I've tried as its actually so moisturising but with a matte look to it. This shade rose pink with a kind of terracotta undertones. Its quite a watery formula that coats the lips quickly and easily.

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte in Sugar Mama | £18.00

This is hands down my fave liquid lipstick formula and I could wear it all day without feeling uncomfortable or clumpy on my lips. I wouldn't say it dries completely matte as it still has a slight sheen to it but it does have a lovely sweet smell to it. Sugar Mama is quite nude in the swatch below but I would say there was a pink tone to it.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm | £6.00

For drugstore you can't go wrong with these and they are so creamy and comfortable to wear. The mousse formula can be a little sheer but buildable for more coverage. Stockholm is a true deep nude shade and more of the brown colour spectrum.

Nars Sheer Lipstick in Dolce Vita | £21.00

I'm really getting into trying out more Nars lip products and this sheer one is so perfect for everyday use as it gives such a natural look. The shade is a mauve pink that is a good match to my natural lip colour and its quite sheer so it doesn't fully cover then anyway. The satin finish is also really moisturising.

Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Plummy Rose | £13.00

This is one of those shades I love when wearing it but its one I tend to forget about. As the name would suggest its a plummy rose and one of the darker ones in this post. The butter formula is perfect for me as it keeps my lips so moisturised and its comfortable for hours.

Barry M Matte Liquid Lip Kit in Go To | £6.99

Leaning more towards the brown nudes than the mauves with this Barry M one. The formula of this is very thick so you don't need a lot to cover your lips and it dries completely matte which can be a little drying for me.

Colourpop Lippie Stix in Aquarius | $5.00

Everyone raves about the CP liquid lipsticks but I actually love the Lippie Stix as they are so natural and easy to wear. The thin tip makes it easy to line and define my lips but also gives them a opaque colour quickly. Aquarius is a soft pinky nude in a creme formula so its smooth and comfortable to wear.

Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Clay Crush | £6.99

If you want a good drugstore dupe for MAC lipsticks I would say check these out as they have some lovely shades and the formula is so much like the MAC matte one. Clay Crush is a terracotta nude shade that is really natural and looks lovely on tanned skin.

MAC Lipstick in Brave | £16.50

This is an old favourite of mine and I have almost used my first tube up so it will be a repurchase. This has a satin finish so there is a sheen to the finish with a pearl tone to it so it has a slight shimmer. Brave is a pinky beige and I would say there is a lilac hint to it.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow | £17.00

It was a close call between this one and Lolita but I definitely favour this one a little more. This has a really creamy formula that is quite thick so you don't need a lot. Bow N Arrow is a  cool toned brown shade that I find works better for me when I have more of a tan.
