I say this all the time but there is nothing better than a highlighter and I think its one of the main products I couldn't leave the house without. Over the past few weeks I have expanded my collection quite considerable so I thought a post was deserving, although as I write this I has a few more on the way to me or have arrived - as my mum says I'm a highlighter addict.
This has definitely been one of my favourite highlighting palettes I have purchased. I was already a big fan of the formula of these, they are buttery and soft with a finely milled powder that is super pigmented and gives the most gorgeous glow. This shade selection is pinks, bronzes and golds, which are all my favourite shades to wear.
Okay so this is a little pricey considering its the same size as the glow kit and this is just one powder but it just oozes luxury with its mirrored packaging, embossed powder, mini brush and the velvet pouch it comes in. This powder is one of those that it more of a natural glow and really catches the sunlight. I went for 002 which is more of silvery pink shade.
Primark Pure Glow Highlighter | £2.00
If you're in a Primark and spot these you definitely need to try them out and you can't go wrong for £2. I have Champagne, a bronze gold and Pink Prosecco, a shimmery pink. As you can see from the swatched below the colour payoff is quite intense so you only need a tiny amount when using on your face. I would definitely say if I spotted these in another shop they would be more than £2 with the embossed powder and formula.
I'd seen a lot of people rave about these so finally picked one up. I went for Dayglow, which is described as a bronze with rosy undertones but I would say its more of a champagne shade than bronze. The formula is lovely and pigmented and gives just the right amount of shimmer without looking like a disco ball.
I'm so obsessed with Tarte at the moment and already have another order on the way to me after my haul (post here). This palette contains a contour shade and two highlighters but ill be talking about the latter today. The shades are Gleam, a pearl highlighter and Burst, a shimmery pale gold. The formula of these if soft and applies smoothly, the glow is more dewy that an intense shimmer but still lovely and really catches the light.
I've been wanting to try these Illamasqua highlighter for a while and finally picked up Epic after it was on offer at Debenhams. Epic is a rose gold shade that will be more suited to me when I have more of a tan. The formula is quite chunky glitter in my opinion but its not completely awful, I think I'm still getting used to the best way to apply it.
Seriously just look at how pretty this highlighter is, its pretty much the perfect unicorn highlighter. The rainbow compact has 4 pastel shades that swirl together for a gorgeous iridescent silvery highlight shade. The formula of these is more powdery but still gives more of a glow rather than an intense shimmer.
I'm already obsessed with their Rodeo Drive highlighter so I definitely needed to add this one to my collection. Blissful is a rose gold shade that is so pigmented and intense that you only need a time amount. It has a baked formula but is still finely milled and soft to apply.
As soon as I heard that Kylie was bringing out highlighter I knew I had to get some, I went for Banana Split, a yellow gold, and Strawberry Shortcake, a shimmering pink, and as you can tell the range is named after desserts. The formula of these aren't as intense as I would expect but more of a dewy, natural glow and it actually translates better on my face than it does on the swatch. They are also pretty affordable and well worth the wait for delivery from the US.
Do any of you own any of these highlighters?

I've become so obsessed with highlighters lately, I have an entire Alex drawer full of them! One of my newest faves is the Primark PS Bronze & Glow palette, a fab dupe for ABH.
