Now that summer is almost here and the weather is finally warming up (although it is raining as I write this), I thought it was time to talk through some of my favourite lightweight foundations. Just because these are lightweight does not mean they are a minimal coverage, because if you read my blog you'll know that I'm all about a good amount of coverage.
This has been an old favourite of mine and one of the first tinted moisturisers I bought to wear whilst on holiday. Even though these are billed as a tinted moisturiser I would say it is more the formula of a foundation but that also keeps my skin moisturised. This is light coverage with the first layer but you can build up for more. I have the oil free version as on holiday my skin can get quite oily so I didn't want anything to add to that.
I picked up this cult favourite a few months ago now and did initially think it would have more coverage that it does, however, now that spring is here I have been favouring this for a more natural looking base. The formula of this is silky and smooth and applies evening over my skin. It has a demi matte finish that really helps the skin radiate without looking shiny.
Double Wear is a favourite foundation of mine but as most people will say it is quite a full and heavy coverage and not one to use on holiday or when the weather is warmer so here is the next best thing. Double Wear Light has the good coverage of the original but it's a much lighter and more wearable formula. I would still say the coverage is medium-full but lets my skin breath. This one also comes in a tube rather than a bottle so its much better for travelling and especially on holiday when you have weight restrictions.
This one has been a new favourite of mine and its so quick and easy to apply so I'm loving it when I'm rushing around before work in the morning. This is the only cushion foundation I have tried so far and I was a little apprehensive at first but its actually so lovely. The coverage is medium but it is so lightweight on my skin that it almost feels like I have nothing on my skin. I apply this with a stippling brush as the formula is quite watery so the brush helps blend it in.
This was one of my first high end foundations and its still a favourite now. The coverage of this is very full but because of the formula it is as the name would suggest weightless on the skin, the formula is very watery which I why I think its so weightless. The finish of this is matte but not drying or cakey and my skin still look luminous.
It frustrates me so much that this hasn't come to the UK yet and it doesn't appear to be anytime soon but i'll just continue to order from Amazon. Part of the L'Oreal Infallible family this is the one to really help your skin radiate with 24 hour wear. Its a creamy formula with good coverage but still lets my skin breath and has more of a natural finish that the matte and full cover infallible foundations.
Do you own any of these foundations?

I love a lightweight foundation and really want to try the Loreal Cushion one - will definitely purchase once my current foundation is empty! :) Lovely post, Samantha.

There is nothing better than finding a nice lightweight foundation that works for you! I really like the L'Oreal Cushion foundation as it's super hydrating on my skin and doesn't feel heavy at all.

I've recently picked up the Armani Luminous Silk foundation and also expected it to have a little more coverage, I definitely need to try it some more. One of my favourites lately has been the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation.
