I hadn't done one of these posts in a while so I thought a current face of the day was long over due. Being a makeup addict means I have a pretty hefty collection so most days I will switch up the products I use, but there are still some firm favourites. I also switch my makeup up according to seasons so of course this collection is more tailored towards spring/summer.

I always start my makeup with a primer to ensure my makeup has a good base to last all day. BECCA Backlight Priming Filter (£32.00) is one I'm loving at the moment as it really gives my skin some radiance but also creating a great base. This is a cream formula that applies really smoothly over my skin and also illuminates. The LA Girl HD Foundation (£11.00) is my current no. 1 foundation and it definitely rivals some of high end, more expensive foundations. This is a full coverage foundation but is creamy and comfortable on the skin. I would say its a demi matte finish that adds a slight glow to my skin.

A big part of my makeup routine is covering my dark under eyes and the LA Girl Pro.Coverage Peach Corrector (£5.00) is my current go to, the peach shade minimises the blueness I get under my eyes. to brighten I then follow with the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer (£20.00) has the perfect coverage and also moisturises since it contains coconut water. Now that my foundation and concealer are applied and blended in I will set in place with a powder, the RCMA No-Colour Powder (£12.00) is amazing at locking in my makeup and stopping it from creasing!

My new favourite product in my collection is the Kevyn Auction Sculpting Powder (£35.00), its the perfect matte contour shade that really defines my cheek bones and adds precision to the angles of my face. This is followed by my favourite part of my makeup and that is highlighter, MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Doublegleam (£24.50) is one of my current favourites. The iridescent shimmer is a soft beige that really catches the light and looks amazing on your skin. To finish off my face the NYX Ombre Blush in Mauve Me (£8.00) adds a hint of colour to my cheeks. This soft, finely milled powder is so lovely and smooth to apply.

On to my brows and of course it has to be my ultimate go to brow product, the ABH DipBrow Pomade (£18.00) is pretty much the only brow product I will use. The creamy formula fills my brows in so well but also adds definition and stays in place all day. I will also add Benefit Gimme Brow (£20.00) to the top of my brows to add some more colour and keep all the hairs in my place.

For the spring season my go to eyeshadow palette has been the Tartelette in Bloom Palette (£35.00). It's a selection of nudes, golds, pinks and browns so you can create soft, subtle looks or more intense smokey looks. I love the formula of these, they are so intense and pigmented but blend so well together. For my lashes I'm loving the Tarte Lights Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara (£19.00) and especially this amazing iridescent packaging. It has a thick, fluffy brush that coats all my lashes giving volume and length. I always like to wear two mascara and the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes (£25.00) is really great at adding more volume and building my lashes up but not making them clumpy.

The final step in my routine is a setting spray to just secure everything in place. The Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray (£14.50), I have in peach has such a lovely fruity scent that I'm obsessed with. The spray keeps my makeup in place but doesn't make it cakey or heavy on my skin.

  1. Beautiful post Samantha! I really need to try some Tarte products, I don't think I've ever tried anything.
