Happy 1st of the month everybody and who else is shocked that is it March already?! Since Spring is only a few weeks away I thought i'd bring to you today those products that will get you ready for Spring. The season before summer for me is all about fresh glowing skin and makeup to match that and so here are the products I will be using for the next few months.
Okay so admittedly I use this all year round and not just in the spring but it really is the perfect glow giving skincare product and I have just repurchased back into my collection. This toner contains glycolic acid which is known to help renew skin cells and help refresh the skin. I use this every morning before any other skincare and have noticed that my skin is looking brighter and refreshed.
This is a favourite but also one I have rediscovered after running out of it early last year. This is a gel like formula that sinks into skin giving instant hydration, but it is also oil free so doesn't make skin feel greasy. It contains skin boosters like Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean that reenergise the skin and help it appear brighter and revived.
If there is one brand that knows about giving your skin a glow from within and have the most amazing powders it is Hourglass. I have both of their limited edition holiday palettes (last years seen above) and they contain a mix of face powders, blushers and bronzers. It's the face powders I really love for their glowing properties but add any sort of colour to your face. In this years palette my favourite is the new and exclusive shade Surreal Light, it's a nude powder that really helps evoke perfect lighting and gives this to your skin all the time.
I have been wanting this for the longest time and it finally came back in stock on Cult Beauty a few weeks ago so of course I ordered it straight away! This gorgeous rosy pink shade is my new favourite to use for the most lovely warm glow. I picked this over a lot of other highlighters I own as the pretty pink shade is the epitome of spring and adds warmth to the skin.
This is one of my favourite concealers for a radiant look but also helps hydrate tired, dull skin after winter. This is medium coverage that helps minimise dark circles but also it isn't heavy and cakey. I would say it is more runny that other concealers but that does mean it needs setting ASAP to eliminate any creasing. This also contains coconut water to help hydrate and moisturise the skin and it also smells divine!
I actually picked this up in Thailand a few years ago and have yet to ever see it in the UK and I can't even find it online anywhere other than eBay. However, this is such a dreamy base for dull skin and helps add a subtle glow due to its brightening properties. The formula of this is a cream that sinks well into skin and also contains Water Lily to sooth and comfort the skin. This is a very pale pink when you first get it out of the tube but once smoothed all over the face I find it also has a skin tone shade to it and evens out the complexion.
If you read my blog often you'll know that I actually mentioned this as being on my wishlist a few weeks ago and I ended up buying it not so long ago as I had a Space NK voucher. I haven't been using it long but it is such a lovely product! This primer acts as an instant filter for your skin by created a diffused, soft-focus radiance as it has pearls in it to give your skin that glow.
As I said earlier spring makeup is all about fresh looking skin and that calls for a lighter foundation. Double Wear is one of my all time favourite foundation but this has all of its benefits but not as heavy or thick on the skin, although I would still say it has a good amount of coverage and evens out all imperfections and hides them. This has a demi matte finish, so it reduced any shine but still lets skin glow and radiate.
