CURRENT SKINCARE FAVOURITES

I feel like its been a good couple of months since I last did an update of my skincare favourites so I thought it was due. I tend to mix up my skincare routine most days, just because I have quite a collection and I need to make use of it all. As i've mentioned before I have combination skin that does change with the weather, so currently its more on the dry side. However, I am quite lucky in the fact I rarely get blemishes. Anyway here are the products I am loving at the moment.

This is one of those intense treatments I tend to use once to twice a week. It's a deep pore detoxing mud based formula that promises to cleanse, exfoliate and purify the skin. It contains AHA fruit acids, which are known to help dissolve away dead skin cells. Since using this I have found my nose appears a lot clearer and the tiny blackheads I seem to have are disappearing.

I picked this up during M&S's 20% off sale after hearing a lot of people rave about it. This is a cream based formula that you apply overnight but it isnt overly thick or creamy like other overnight products. It sinks into the my skin quickly and there is a slight tingling sensation but nothing too harsh. In the morning I find that my skin looks brighter and feels fresh and softer.

This is one of my all time favourite moisturisers but I have recently picked up a new tub and so I am using it a lot. This is a creamy gel formula that sinks into the skin quickly providing hydration to the skin. It helps my skin appear visibly brighter and improves my tired looking skin after a long week at work.

Although as I said I don't tend to suffer much with my skin my lips are another story and they are always dry and chapped. A good scrub is key in my routine to remove dead skin before applying a balm. My favourites are from Lush and this one from their Valentines ranges (sadly no longer available) is on my current rotation. The flavour of this one is somewhat unusual to me but it contains almond and safflower oil and sea salt gives a tang to it. It isn't too harsh on the lips and simply removes all the dead skin cells.

I don't know why it took me so long to pick this up but I'm so glad I now have it as its amazing. It's a serum/oil that you apply a few drops of at night, it sinks in quickly and leave the skin feeling moisturised but not too greasy. The distilled botanicals help the skin appear brighter and revived in the morning and it also contains evening primrose and lavender, which are both known to help you relax and sleep better.

To make sure all of my makeup is removed I like to use a really intense balm and this is my current go to. This is another cult product in the beauty world and it really is amazing at removing all makeup and cleansing my skin. As well as melting away all my makeup I have found this leave my skin moisturised and soft. I am dreading the day I run out of my current pot though as it's kind of pricey but I love it.

I'm now onto my third pot of this in the last 6 months as it really is amazing. The formula of this is a thick balm so I do favour it at night time, however, one application in the morning can normally last me until at least lunch. It contains honey and precious oils meaning it smells quite nice and leans my lips plump and soft.

This was one of the items in this years Christmas gift but it had been on my wishlist for a while and I'm surprised at how much I like it. It's a day time moisturiser that keeps my skin hydrated but isn't too heavy for the day time. It contains watermelon-lentil-apple extracts to deliver a 24 hour moisture surge, other ingredients include hyaluronic acid and shea butter, which are both also known for their moisturising properties.

I'm loving overnight treatments lately and this one from Pixi is what I apply right before I go to sleep to ensure a deep overnight moisturise. It contains mango butter, lavender, lemon and bergamot which all help hydrate the skin and balance out your skintone.

What are your current skincare favourites?

  2. So many things I want to try here so this post has just tempted me even more! I've been using a black peel off masks for around my nose and that's worked really well at reducing blackheads, might try the Soap and Glory scrub your nose in it when I've ran out!
