So here it's time for another blog post focussed solely on one of my favourite brands - Nars. I don't have a huge amount of products from the brand and there are lots more I want to try, but I have slowly been building a collection and finding favourites from the brand. The luxurious high end brand has a simplistic theme to its packaging using matte black - although it is a nightmare to keep clear. I have found they are most famous for their foundations, blushes and lip products. In my opinion they keep their products simple but they pack a punch and thats what makes them great.
This is one of their cult shades but it took me so long to try it, I only added to my collection (thanks to a giveaway) in summer of last year. Laguna is a bronzing powder perfect for creating the perfect bronzed, summer glow. When you first look at it it almost seems matte but up close there is a very faint golden shimmer to it, I find that it help lumizes my skin. The powder itself is very pigmented so you don't need an awful lot on your brush and it will last for ages. It comes in the signature matte black rectangular compact with a good sized mirror.
Another of the iconic cheek products and personally I think the name sells itself to you. Orgasm is a soft coral pink shade that has a satin finish to it, helping give the skin a dewy glow. This shade is perfect for adding warmth to you skin and flushing you cheeks without being too harsh. The powder is soft and finely milled ensuring a soft, blendable application that seemlessly blends to the rest of your makeup.
Velvet Matte Lip Pencil | £20.00
These are probably some of the most famous lip pencils and I definitely need to get my hands on some more shades. I have the shade Tortola, which I believe must now be discontinued as I can't find it online. The shade is a warm reddish brown, it's not my favourite but I don't have anything like it and so its handy to have. I love how easily these glide onto your lips and you can really shape them properly with the thin tip.
All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation | £34.00
This was my first Nars foundation and I was sold immediately and used it all the time. This one promises full coverage but a weightless feel and long term wear. The formula of this very watery, hence why it is lightweight but it definitely conceals all my imperfections and provides me with full, long lasting coverage. The finish is a demi-matte, I find it luminizes the skin but doesn't make it appear shiny of greasy. I've almost finished my bottle of this so I will definitely be repurchasing soon.
Sheer Glow Foundation | £32.00
This cult foundation is famous in the beauty world and so many rave about it, at first I was a little hesitant to try it as the name sheer really put me off. If you read my blog often you'll know I'm all about a medium to full coverage and in my opinion sheer just isn't that, however I was pleasantly surprised. After trying this it definitely has more of a medium coverage that can even be built up. It's more of a creamier formula than the Luminous Weightless one but still blends beautifully into my skin. The finish is again demi-matte and not as glowing as the name would suggest.
Copacabana Illuminator | £23.00
This was my first even Nars purchase and it still a firm favourite now. This is pretty much a highlighter in liquid form, but because of that you can use it so many different ways; either on its own under or on top of makeup, mixed in with moisturiser or foundation or elsewhere on you body (highlighting collar bones and shins looks great in a night out). Copacabana is a soft champagne pink with an intense shimmer. I got this a while ago now and it's still quite full as you only need a tiny bit to make an impact.
