Yes I know the Christmas period has gone and its depressing January but there is always a time for a shimmery eye look. For me a shimmer eye really sets the eyes off and makes them pop, whether that be a full on look or just an inner corner or brow bone highlight. In my collection there are a number of single shadows, creams and then all of those great ones included in palettes, so here are some of my favourites...
This new palette by Zoeva features lots of pretty and richly pigmented shades but some of my favourites are the shimmers that have been included. 181c is a bronzey sand shade that has intense shimmer that translates immediately on the eyes, I like to use this as a highlight on the centre of my eye lid. Almost Burnt is a bright yellow gold shimmer, the intensity of this really helps the eyes stand out and works well with the warm shades I love to wear.
Since this was one of my first premium eyeshadow palettes I wanted to include two of my favourite shades that I use a lot. Sin is a pale rose shade with a shimmer that I tend to use for my inner corner highlight as it brightens my eyes. Half Baked is a peachy champagne shade that is the perfect addition to any warm eye look. In terms of formula UD isn't my favourite, I find them to quite powdery and not as pigmented as I would like.
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow Paint in Golden Eye | £5.99
I picked up one of these new releases by L'Oreal as they really caught eye and I hadn't tried anything like it before! The are a cream based formula and in a tube almost like a lipgloss with a doe foot applicator. I got the shade Golden Eye which looks like a yellow gold in the tube but isn't quite as intense on the skin, I would have preferred it to be more pigmented and shimmery but its still okay for the price of it.
ColourPop Fringe Eyeshadow | $5.00
This was one of the first CP eyeshadows I picked up and its a firm favourite still. Fringe is an intense silver champagne shade that I use all the time for my inner corner highlighter or brow bone highlight. The formula of these is that famous spongey texture that CP has in all it's powders and it is so pigmented!
Kiko Water Eyeshadow in #208 Light Gold | £8.90

Kiko Water Eyeshadow in #208 Light Gold | £8.90
This is one of my favourite products I own both as an eyeshadow and a highlighter. These eyeshadows by Kiko can be used dry or with water for a more intense look, I tend to favour dry for ease of use but when mixed with water the pigmentation is incredible! Light Gold is a as the name would suggest a pale gold shade.
MUG are definitely one of the best brands for single eyeshadow brands and I have finally started my collection. They have their standard range (priced at £6.00) including mattes and shimmers, and the foiled range (£9.25) with a more intense metallic shimmer. Shimma Shimma is one of my favourites from the standard range, it's a soft creamy white shade with a subtle shimmer to it. Grandstand is a lot more intense since its from the foiled range, it's a copper shimmer that I use and an all over lid shade.
These are probably my favourite single eyeshadow for the colour selection and formula, I also got my selection in their Black Friday sale so they were cheap too! Amber is an intense shimmer in a pale gold almost peach shade. In contrast a brighter but not too out there shade is Gold Bar, the intense yellow shimmer of this really stands out but still works with neutral shades.
Now onto the creams and this one is an old favourite. The formula of these KIKO ones is soft and creamy applying smoothly to the lids, you do have to work it quite a bit to get it all to blend out but I like them. This shade is pretty much as the name suggests, a silver shimmer with rose/lilac undertones.
This is one of my favourite products to use in the summer for a quick and easy shimmer eye that looks amazing with no effort. These creme eyeshadows by Maybelline are slightly more solid than the Kiko ones so take a bit more effort to get out of the jar but it is very pigmented once on the eyes. This shade is a paler gold shade but still intense and brightens the eyes.
What are your shimmer eye picks?!
