Can anyone believe the first month of 2017 has finished? I'm hoping it will be summer before we know it though. January is probably the most depressing month there is but I have treated myself quite a bit this month with some new drugstore products but i'll be featuring all of that in a haul and future favourites posts. So this month i'll be featuring some favourites I picked up last year but hadn't gotten round to trying or some that I have bought this month and instantly fell for.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation & Concealer | £20.00-£19.00
I have been trialling these for around 6 weeks now after picking them up with a voucher I had for my birthday in November. I decided to try these out as one of my fave YouTubers, Shaaan xo, mentioned it as one of her favourites and I always love a foundation and concealer duo. The foundation is oil free and promises to act almost as a second skin and blur the lines between makeup and skin. This would normally put me off foundation as I like a medium-full coverage and to be able to see I have makeup, however, I was pleasantly surprised that it covered my skin in thin but apparent layer than evened out my skin tone and help the skin radiate from within. The concealer is a thinner consistency than others but I put this down to the hydration properties it has. It really helps cover up my dark circles and brighten up that area. I have an issue with dry skin around my eyes so this is great as it doesn't still to any of that skin, however, it doesn't need powder applied to it straight away as it creases quickly.
Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette | £18.00 | post
This has been one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes recently and it really is the perfect selection of shades for this time of year. This is the little sister palette to the Cocoa Blend one and features a selection of warm caramel shades. I find these eyeshadows to be so pigmented and especially the shimmer ones. My favourite shades are definitely; 182c (a shimmery copper), Start Soft (burnt terracotta) and Almost Burnt (shimmery yellow gold).
Estee Edit Flash Photo Gloss | £15.00
I've been meaning to pick this up for ages but it's only available at Selfridges and everytimeI went to my local one I forgot and I wasnt paying the £5 postage, however, I did finally pick it up whilst shopping at Christmas. This gloss by the younger, funner Estee Lauder range in collaboration with Kendall Jenner, is high shine with cool blue micro pearls that enhance the whiteness of your teeth in photos. I'm not normally a gloss wearer but this one is lovely to throw on for everyday use (especially when my lips are dry), and even better knowing that my teeth will look brighter and whiter in any photos.
MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Doublegleam | £24.00
I'm a highlighter junkie and this new release by MAC is one of my favourites and a go to recently! The collection features 4 iridescent style highlighters, this one is a beige shade that shimmers silver and really looks amazing against my skin tone. This gives more of a dewy glow rather than an intense shimmer so perfect for daytime and nighttime use.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipstick in Passion | £8.99
I had been undecided about trying out these Revlon liquid lipsticks for a while but finally picked one up in a recent Superdrug haul. I went for one of the brighter shades as I have so many nude liquid lipsticks. Passion is a berry reddish purple shade. I have to say I don't find these at all matte and they have more of a shiny finish but the pigmentation is amazing, I also found it lasted a long time and was almost near perfect even after eating a meal.
Tom Ford Blush Nude Lipstick | £39.00
This is my new baby and one of my favourites christmas present, i'd been wanting a TF lipstick for ages and so my mum treated me to one as a stocking filler. She went for the perfect shade for me, a soft pinky nude that I can wear everyday. I have also found this lipstick to be really moisturising with butters and oils to help keep your lips in great condition. It has a satin finish so there is a slight sheen to it.
Kiss Light Reflecting Facial Primer | £3.00
I picked this up after spotting it in Wilko and hearing Emmy from Emmy's Beauty Cave rave about it (review here), at £3 it was a steal so I thought even if I didn't like it it wouldn't be a waste. The packaging itself doesn't look cheap at all and it reminds me of something Too Faced would do. The primer itself is silicon formula that mattifies the skin but has light reflecting particles to help the skin radiate from within. I haven't noticed my makeup lasts any longer than normal as I normally use a setting spray but I may try it out without to see if it helps with longevity.
