COLOURPOP HAUL

I promised myself I wouldn't be placing any more orders from America for a while as the customs charges were just becoming a nightmare, however, Colourpop had 20% off site wide over Black Friday weekend and I just couldn't resist. CP is one of my favourite US brands as the products are so goo yet so affordable, I just wish they were more readily available in the UK. I placed this order with CP and had it delivered directly to my house instead of a third party mailing service as CP have free international delivery over $50 and I thought at least that would save me some money!

I decided on this order to pick out some more of their eyeshadows as I really like them but only have a few shades. This quad featured four neutral shades and ones I knew i'd wear. The shades are; Smash (neutral satin beige), Vega (cool-toned taupe gold sprinkled), To-a-T (mid-tone warm brown) and Mooning (blackened plum). The formula of these are like all the other CP powders, spongey and creamy in the pan but apply like a powder. I'm still finding the best way to apply these and which brush to use.

Puppy Love Eyeshadow | $5.00

This one was sold to me as soon as I saw that the proceeds from it would be donated to an animal charity. This shade is a cream pink with a golden sheen to it. I've been using this a lot for an inner corner highlight and brow bone highlight.

School is Fun Highlighter | $8.00

I have quite a few of the CP highlighters and this one jumped out at me for it's silvery pearl shade. It's part of the collab with Hello Kitty but unfortunately mine arrived broken, I did manage to mash it back into the compact and I'm just hoping it doesn't come apart again. This is described as a pale gold highlight and I love the iridescent shimmer it adds to my cheek bones.

I picked this one up after hearing Jasmine from Jasmine Talks Beauty rave about it and mention about how it was hard to get hold of, so I threw it in my basket since it was in stock. This is a marbled effect of golds, pearls and bronzes, which combine to create a soft coppery shimmer.

I piked this one up as it's shade I see a lot of people mention and sounded like one I knew i'd wear. Echo Park is described as a warm peachy nude and since its a satin finish it isn't as drying as the matte ones and my personal preference.

I was drawn to this bright pop of pink as all my other CP liquid lipsticks are more muted shades. This one is probably more appropriate for spring time but it doesn't hurt to have a bright pop of pink in my collection. This is a matte finish, which I do find a little drying but a good lip balm underneath helps combat that.

Tiny Chum Ultra Satin Lip | $6.00

This was another from the collab with Hello Kitty and the whole collection is so adorable I just had to have it. This is a soft mauve shade with purple undertones that really pop on my skin tone. This is a satin finish so goes on smoothly with a slight sheen to it.

I'm really into peach makeup lately (I'll be featuring the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette on my blog soon) so this trio was a must. It features 3 peach shades in either a satin or matte finish. Instigator, a matte muted peach, Screenshot, a satin deepened peach and Speed Dial, a matte rich peach. I'm excited to create some peachy looks with these and the TF palette.

Have you picked up anything recently from Colourpop?

  7. Those swatches look amazing, I've heard the Satin lips are a lot more comfortable on the lips than the Ultra Mattes so I might have to try some of those if I ever make an order. x
