In the past 6 weeks I have had my graduation, birthday and quite a few shopping trips so there have been a lot of new makeup additions to my collection, so here they are all in one post. This time of year is always crazy with lots of brands releasing their christmas collections and I can't help but get sucked into the new, pretty products. There are also some cult products I picked up or had as a gift that will be featured in this post.
Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette | £17.50
This was one of the gifts my boyfriend got me for my birthday and it's a new release by Zoeva as part of the Cocoa Blend family. I had only recently tried the Cocoa Blend palette but this was caught my eye and they shades are right up my street and perfect for autumn. This palette is a selection of burnt oranges, browns, golds and a deep aubergine shade. The formula of the Zoeva eyeshadows is highly pigmented, velvety and easy to blend.
Laura Mercier Fall in Love Face Illuminator Palette | £45.00
I had been dying to get my hands on the Laura Mercier Indiscretion highlighter for months but it was sold out everywhere, luckily my mum managed to get me this palette for my birthday before this sold out everywhere. The palette includes all 4 face illuminators in the famous wave design, they are very tiny, however, I don't think I would ever realistically finish a full highlighter.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Warm Rose | £24.00
This was one of my great Bicester village finds, I love going there as the beauty store has some really good finds from the likes of MAC, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder etc. I'd never actually seen this shade in the Mineralize Skinfinish before but it was my kind of style. Warm Rose is a pale silvery pink shade with a frosted metallic finish. I find that these are quite powdery and there is a lot of fall out but its so intensely pigmented and really illuminates your cheek bones.
MAC Retro Matte in Mango Mango | £21.00
Another Bicester village find and i've been wanting to try these matte liquid lipsticks for a while. Admittedly this shade is more suited towards summer and so I wont get much use out of it until then but I think it was only around £14 from Bicester so a bargain. Mango Mango is a pastel peach shade. The finish of these is velvety matte, i've only applied once so far to try out and it didn't feel too drying so I'm hoping when I wear for longer it will still be comfortable.
Hourglass Lighting Edit in Surreal Light | £69.00
This is this years holiday released by Hourglass and a birthday gift from my boyfriend. I've kind of gotten in to a tradition now of having this palette every year so I hope next years is great! This one has 5 powders including; face powder, blushers, bronzer and highlighter. I find these to be smooth and soft to apply and they add such a subtle glow to your skin without looking OTT. The palette is a little on the expensive side but I do think it is worth the money!
MAC x Charlotte Olympia Cream Colour Base | $23.00
A product that is unfortunately unavailable now and the reason I believe it was at Bicester village. This is the shade Golden Age and you would expect a deep golden bronze with a dewy shimmer to it. I actually haven't worn this on my face yet (just swatched it) as I think it will be more suited to me in summer/on holiday with a tan because of the bronze shade to it.
MAC Sweet Copper Face Compact | £29.00
This was part of MAC's christmas release this year, however this is now sold out. I ordered mine as soon as it was available as I had a feeling it would be a sell out. The palette features a highlighter, Whisper of Guilt, and a blush/bronzer, Pleasure Model, and has the most adorable candy cane striped packaging. Whisper of Guilt was a famous release last christmas and is an intense pale gold shimmer. Pleasure Model works as both a bronzer and blush for me as its a peachy brown shade.
Kat Von D Shade & Light Eyeshadow Palette | £36.00
This is a cult eyeshadow palette in the beauty world and everyone who has it raves about so it was on my birthday list this year. The palette is a selection of neutral shades in a matte finish and groups them into 3 sections; neutral browns, darker shades and reddish browns. I have found these to be so pigmented and they blend so well together.
MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Double Gleam | £24.00
MAC recently launched new highlighters and I believe these are permanent so they shouldn't sell out any time soon. These new highlighters are in 4 different shades and all have a iridescent finish. I have Double Gleam which is a beige that shimmers silver through it and is the perfect shade for pale to medium skin tones. I think I prefer these to the mineralize skin finish as there isn't as much fall out.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light | £31.00
I was originally on the hunt at Bicester Village for the normal double wear but they seemed to have every shade except mine so I went for the light version. I would definitely say this is more of a medium coverage than light but definitely not as heavy as the normal version. This one comes in a tube rather than a glass bottle so doesn't have that luxurious feel unfortunately. This has intense staying power with a comfortable wear and sheer finish to it.
MUA Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette | £6.00
This has been on my radar for a few months now after seeing it on a lot of Instagrams and noticing how similar it was to the much more expensive Hourglass palette. I finally spotted this in a larger Superdrug store and got 3 for 2 on it as well. The shade selection is pale pinks, roses and purples in a soft silky finish. I have used this a few times now and it isn't the most amazing formula or pigmentation but its still wearable and the prettiness of the palette makes up for it.
