IF I COULD ONLY OWN 5... MASCARAS

Here is another addition to my 'If I could only own 5...' and todays is all about mascara. This one was probably one of the easier ones to choose from as I do really struggle to find a mascara that does everything for me and I could probably just own one of these and be happy. For me lashes are an important part of my makeup and if I had to keep my makeup simple brows and lashes would be my go to. I have quite fair lashes so a deep intense black is a must for me and I want something that will give them length but leave them looking full as well.

YSL Luxurious Mascara for a False Lash Effect | £25.00

This was one of my favourites but unfortunately mine is pretty much finished but I wanted to include it anyway. The mascara has quite a thick formula and a bristle style wand instead of the silicon you get a lot. The formula coats the lashes quickly but you do have to manoeuvre the brush quite a bit to ensure all lashes are cover. The mascara itself contains a number of rich oils so you lashes are left feeling moisturised and in good condition.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara | £19.00

This is my number one high end mascara and one I don't mind paying the premium price tag for. This mascara adds both length and volume and gives my lashes that flourished look instead of separating them. It has an hourglass shape brush that helps gives your lashes a curl. It is contains collagen so its sure to help you lashes look flawless all day and they is smudging or wearing off.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara | £7.99

I would probably say that out of these 5 this is my down right favourite, purely for the fact that its so good but also affordable. This one is the little sister of the famous Lash Sensational and what makes it different is that is is blended for oils thus giving a better lash multiplying effect. This is a silicon brush that is tapered out to wards the end to help reach each the shortest of lashes.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara | $9.49

Unfortunately this one is available in the UK yet so i'll be really sad when I can no longer use mine. I wasn't expecting much when I saw the wand of this as I prefer a fatter wand that will coat my lashes straight away, however, if you use this slowly making sure the bristles grab every last. I like to use this one to add length and then go in with another for more volume as this is the best at giving it.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara | £7.99

This is the mascara I tend to go for as a second coat to add more volume. The brush of this holds a lot of the mascara on it so it coats the lashes quickly and easy, even over the top of another. I have to say I can't really tell that it pushes up my lashes and I normally curl my lashes anyway but I do love the volume and definition it gives to my lashes.

Are any of these mascaras your favourites?

  6. I love the Too Faced mascara, but do you find that it gives you raccoon eyes throughout the day? I would love to find a solution to this as I absolutely love the way that it makes my lashes look fuller and longer
