Now December is here it means the christmas party season is upon us. I don't actually have an official christmas party as we have a big conference in January but we are having a team meal next week so I shall be taking aspects of this look for that meal. Christmas parties for me is all about shimmery eyes and berry toned lips. I know sometimes it needs to be something that can be worn throughout the day and they topped in for the evening after work.
If i'm heading on a night out or straight out after work I want makeup that will last and for me that is all about the base you have and a good primer. One I have found that help my makeup look flawless all day is the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer, its a cream based primer than smooths out my complexion leaving the perfect base for my foundation. My foundation doesn't wear away throughout the day and stops it from becoming shiny. On top of this great base the foundation i'll go for is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light, I'm a big fan of the normal DW but mine ran out and I spotted this at Bicester Village so went for it. Although its billed as light I would still say its a good medium coverage, perfect for the day time and then can be topped up for the night.
To help keep my dark under eye circles at bay all day and night the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is my top pick, it's quite a thick formula so covers all imperfections but isn't heavy or cakey on the skin. Whilst this one is great for brightening I sometimes add the YSL Touch Eclat to brighten and make my skin look flawless. To ensure the concealer doesn't crease or wear away throughout the night the Ben Nye Banana Powder is the perfect product to seal in the concealer and also brighten your under eyes as it is a bright yellow tone. Although I use a setting powder under my eyes and I also like to powder the rest of my face to get rid of shine, my favourite lately is the Sephora Beauty Amplifier (this doesn't seem to be on there website), it's a translucent pressed power that mattifies the skin without adding any colour but also seems to blend my foundation in as well.
For a party look I love having bronzed skin but when I fake tan I don't do my face so a good bronzer is in order, I start by adding some colour using the Topshop Horizon Highlighter, I can't really use this as a highlighter as its too dark for my skin tone so instead I brush it lightly over my face for warmth and a slight shimmer. To intensify my contour I use the Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer, its more of a soft brown shade so isn't too intense but still helps define the hollow of my cheeks.
For my highlight is has to be the dreamy BECCA X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop, this dreamy peachy gold shimmer give you skin that sun kissed look. The powder is so finely milled that its almost buttery and very little goes a long way. For the finishing touches on my face a blush is a must, this hot pink Smashbox one gives your cheeks that flushed look.
Now on to my brows, you really can't go wrong with the ABH DipBrow Pomade, its a creamy formula that glides onto the brows smoothly and lasts all day. I use it with an angled brush and it fills my brows in but also gives them a great shape and nice arch.
For my eyes i'll be using the most amazing palette I have gotten this year. The ABH Master Palette by Mario, is a selection of shimmering jewel tones that can all be combined for a subtle smokey eye. To add definition to the look a winged eyeliner is perfect and my go to is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, its such an intense black with a precise tip perfect for the feline flick and it can either be subtle or thicker for a more fierce look.
On a night out its all about the lashes and whilst I will be wearing falsies I need a good mascara underneath, a new one I have been loving is the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Angel, when I first saw this I thought i'd hate it as the wand was tiny but it really lengthens my lashes and curls them. The lashes I'll be wearing are the Peaches & Cream* style no. 1, its a very feline style that tapers out towards the outside edge. These add dramatic volume and length and are really comfortable to wear.
Of course the look wouldn't be complete without a lipstick. Since it is a special occasion and acceptable to go all out with you lipstick, i'll be wearing MAC's Evening Rendezvous, which I have just unfortunately found out was limited edition and not part of their main collection. It's a deep reddish purple in a matte finish, although I do find that it is still moisturising.

I came so close to getting that Ben Nye powder the other day, but I got the Coty Airspun instead.

I've been using the Sleek Diamonds in the Rough eyeshadow palette which is perfect for adding some Christmas sparkle to my otherwise muted shades I normally use!
