So its the end of the year and that means a round up of all of my favourite beauty products from 2016. This one is all about the makeup products I have been loving, they haven't necessarily been released this year but are ones I have discovered and continued to love. Although there have definitely been a lot of new releases this year I have fallen for and so many others that have caught my eye but still on my to buy list.
You can now all rejoice in the fact that ABH has a UK site and this is readily available with free shipping!! I ordered mine earlier on in the year from the US website and did have to pay for postage and customs but this is so worth it. The highlighters in these glow kits are buttery, pigmented and give a dewy finish rather than anything too shimmery. This one features 4 shades all aptly names after American sweets, my favourite has to be Marshmallow, an intense pearl shade with gold undertones.
I only discovered this cult classic at the end of this year but I have been using it so much since and I already know it will be one I will be repurchasing. The name Sheer Glow did put me off initially as I always like foundation to be medium coverage and with a name like sheer I would have assumed it would be light. However, this is a medium-full coverage and can be built it. It gives my skin a dewy finish but nothing too shiny and doesn't make my skin look or feel greasy.
This is a products I used a few years back but I really discovered my love for it again the latter end of this year. This is a silicone based formula and mattifies the skin leaving the pores smoothed for foundation application. It is billed as being translucent, however, the product itself has a nude colour to it and I'm sure it does even out my skin tone.
These new releases really caught my eye this year as one of the high end brands taking on the liquid lipstick trend. These has quite a runny texture but coat the lips easily and quickly leaving an opaque wash of colour. I have the shade Amoreux, which is a wearable mauve pink.
This was one of my go to lip products for the summer as its just so damn versatile. It's a glittery glow formula than can be both worn on its own or over a lipstick to add a shimmer to it. Skinny Dip is a golden shimmer shade and the glittery isn't too chunky but just helps catch sunlight reflects.
I have really gotten into CP this year and placed a few different orders (haul coming soon). I really like their liquid lipsticks and they are such good quality for a great price (also great dupes for the Kylie liquid lipsticks). This one is my favourite but unfortunately it has been discontinued, its a cool toned nude beige with a matte finish. I tend to prefer their satin ones as the matte can be a tad drying but nothing too bad.
ABH have really been bringing out some great products this year and these two eyeshadow palettes were certainly some of them, one of them is actually sold out now and the other seems to go in and out of being in stock a lot. The first I got was the Modern Renaissance palette, which is a collection of warm toned browns, pinks, reds and oranges in mostly a matte finish. The other was the collaboration with master makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic and sold out in hours. This was is more jewel tones in mostly shimmer finishes. I love the ABH eyeshadows as they are some of the most pigmented I have tried and blend out so well - i'll have a post of my singles collection soon.
This products has been a revelation for me this year and there isn't a day goes by where I don't use it! If you suffer terribly with your under eye concealer creasing then try this out. I apply a thick layer and leave for 5 mins and buff away the excess, this leave my concealer locked in place and no creases all day. The banana tone also helps brighten the under eyes and its a very finely milled powder that it isn't heavy on the skin. My only issue is the packaging as I always end up with it everywhere.
I'm not normally a fan of single eyeshadows as I prefer palettes and they are so much easier if your travelling around as you get a multitude of shades all in one. However, the CP ones caught my eye and I do really love them. They have a unique formula which is spongey and creamy but apply like a powder.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer | £17.50 | post
I can't believe I took so long to try out this concealer that everyone seems to love as it really is amazing. This is one of those concealers that seems to cover up everything but its still like on the skin and doesn't go cakey or patchy. It has a sponge applicator that easily applies it then I like to blend it out with a damp beauty blender.
LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Peach | £5.00
I have been loving this bad boy for concealing my dark circles. I apply it before my concealer, blend it out and then apply a brightening concealer on top and it leaves my under eyes brightened and those pesky dark circles are gone. This one is a brush applicator which I'm not the most keen on but it does the job and I blend it out with a sponge anyway.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light | £69.00 | post
I featured last years holiday palettes from Hourglass in my 2015 favourites and so this one deserves a mention too. I only recently got this but its so dreamy and especially the marble packaging they have on it. This one contains 5 powders; a bronzer, 2 blushes and two highlighting powders. These aren't super pigmented but give more of a natural glow and apply so nicely.
NARS Laguna Bronzer | £28.00 | post
Another cult product I was late to the party on but I had been meaning to buy for ages until I won a giveaway and got this and the Orgasm blush. I love this bronzer as its just the perfect shade for my skin tone, not too orange but still adds warmth and it has a very slightly shimmer to it.
Zoeva Brush Sets | £65.00
Okay so admittedly I had my first Zoeva brushes last christmas but that was the very end of the year and I have really fallen for them over this year. I have the Rose Gold sets 1 & 2 now as my mum got me the second for this Christmas. Zoeva brushes are some of my favourites as they are just such good quality and an inexpensive price tag. My favourites are the eye brushed and flat top buffing brush for foundation.
Colourpop Highlighters | $8.00
Being a highlighter addict these are some of my absolute favourites as they are so unlike anything else i have. Like the eyeshadows they have a spongey creamy texture but give you a dewy shimmer. My favourites are Spoon, a silver champagne, and Churro, a marbled effect copper and champagne.
Benefit Ka-Brow! Eyebrow Cream-Gel | £18.50 | post
My go to brow product will always be the ABH DipBrow but I have been using that for years and this is a product I discovered this year. Part of Benefits whole new brow range this new product is a waxy gel formula that once applied literally doesn't move. This one is much thicker and drier than the creamy DipBrow but still applied smoothly.
Milani Baked Blush | £8.00 | post
These have been some of my favourites blushes this year and I use them a lot, there are lots of other shades I'm keen to pick up too. These are baked so more powdery than other blushes but aren't drying. These also aren't too pigmented so you don't end up with a clown look.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara | £7.99 | post
I've saved the best to last in my opinion as this is my absolute favourite mascara and its really not expensive. I would definitely say if you are on the hunt for a new mascara, check out the whole Maybelline range as I really love them all. This one has a plastic brush that is fatter at one end and then tapers out towards the other. I find that this one is perfect for a little length and volume and can be built up for a more dramatic look.

I'm definitely more of a single eyeshadow person since I don't usually do much with the eyes, definitely agree that colour pop shadows are just amazing!!
