I don't tend to mine when autumn arrives as it means my birthday and christmas are nearing, although the col weather is not my favourite. Autumn makeup for me is all about smokey eyes, dark lips and lots of gold shimmery highlight. This post is all about those lip shades i'll be reaching for this season to replace those summery pinks and corals.
This is the favourite shade I have from Kylie but she has bought out some new shades I really need to get my hands on. Dolce is a deep beige nude and does look quite deep on me. The formula of these are quite thick so you need to be careful when applying to not apply too much. They dry completely matte and I find as long as you don't put too much on they aren't drying, they also have an amazing vanilla scent.
I really love the wear of these liquid lipsticks and know i'll be wearing this a lot through autumn. Lolita is a rose shade with chestnut undertones and a really lovely autumnal shade in my opinion. The formula of these is quite creamy but you get a good pigment and the wear isn't too drying.
I got this in my very first CP order in the spring and in all honesty I forgot what shades I ordered and was a little disappointed when this arrived as it wasn't a very summery shade. I put it away in the back of my storage but now i'll be bringing it back out for the colder seasons as the shade fits perfectly. Bichette is a deep red wine with a matte finish, and although its matte I don't find these at all drying.
When I first bought the Lip Lingeries I thought id got this shade but must have missed it in the midst of the order I was making, so I picked it up a few weeks ago. Exotic is a sort of terracotta orangey pink shade. The formula of these is quite watery so you have to apply a few coats to get an opaque colour. However, because the formula is quite lightweight it doesn't feel heavy on your lips or dry them out.
I picked this up in a recent Sephora haul in Spain after hearing a lot of people rave about them. Marvellous Mauve is a dusty rose pink and the formula is quite thick so you get good pigmentation the first time.
I have quite a lot of these but mainly in nudes and pinks so wanted something a little different and in walks Copenhagen. It's a deep pinky plum shade. The formula of these is one of the my favourites, its a mousse like texture so is really like on your lips but dries down completely matte.
This was one of the first liquid lipsticks in my collection and I'll still keep going back to them. The formula is velvety and creamy so it gives you long lasting colour but isn't too drying. Plum Plum Girl is very similar to Copenhagen but slightly more pinky than purple.
I picked this shade up last autumn and it became a staple shade. Night Crimson is one of those deep berry red shades that could almost pass for black. I really love this formula of these lipsticks as they are so moisturising!
This is another true autumnal shade, Rebel is a mid tonal cream plum shade. This is slightly more purple than the likes of Night Crimson and Bichette. It's a satin finish so the colour can be built up depending on the look you want and doesn't dry your lips out like the matte finishes can.
This is a recent addition to my mac collection and thought it was quite a fitting shade for this season. It's a relatively new addition to MAC's lipstick collection following the success of their lip liner of the same name. Whirl is described as a dirty rose and I would say it definitely has brown undertones. It's a matte finish so can be a little drying but I think matte looks amazing during this season.
Are any of these lipsticks your choice for autumn?
xo
I placed an order in ColourPop too and I wish I had included Bichette in it, it is so beautiful and perfect for fall! :)
