I've been blogging now for about 18 months and it definitely becomes a big part of your life. If I was truly honest it does sometimes take over and other things would be abandoned in favour of it, however, I probably wouldn't change it for the world. I love reading posts where bloggers talk about their experiences of being a blogger and so this was the reasoning behind todays post. It's all about the good and bad ways blogging can take over your life.
LIFE BECOMES A PHOTOSHOOT
When your addicted to Instagram and Twitter like me, the quest for the perfect 'Instragrammable' photo becomes a daily challenge. I'll often be on a day out and stopping my mum or boyfriend to take the perfect shot that fits my theme, much to the annoyance of them both. However, not only is keeping up with Instagram a daily job, taking and editing the photos for a post probably takes the most time of them all. I tend to bulk take photos on a weekend (even more now its winter) when the natural light is good and I have time to play around with the set up. Then comes the editing, I do mine either through the Photos app on the MacBook or through apps like PicMonkey or Fotor. All of this added up becomes a big part of my life and I even now will plan time in my week to make sure it's done.
YOUR BANK ACCOUNT TAKES A HIT
I'm sure a lot of people like me justify purchases for the purpose of the blog. I was a makeup fan before I started blogging but now its become a slight obsession. There probably isn't a week that doesn't go by without me buying makeup and my bank account definitely hurts because of it. Being a blogger means posting constant and relevant content so i'm always on the hunt for new amazing products. Whilst I would never buy something I know I wouldn't use but I do buy somethings that I think will be great for my blog!
YOUR PHONE BECOMES A FIFTH LIMB
When it comes to blogging interacting and promoting your blog on social media is a daily job and so you generally need constant access to your phone. As my boyfriend always moans at me, I'm on my phone a lot, whether that be Insta, Twitter etc. but thats all in the life of being a blogger. I use my phone for not only social media but also it's where I write down all my ideas for posts and those thoughts that can come to you at 3am when I can't sleep.
YOUR EVENINGS ARE LOST TO A WORLD OF BLOGGING
I write my blog around working full time so often I spend my evenings writing the posts (like this one) after taking all the photos on the weekend. Writing a post in my opinion can take a long time, unless I am on a serious roll it can take probably 1-2 hours for each post to make sure its perfect and that is a lot of time out of your evening. Writing the posts is not the only thing that can take over my evening, but there is also the like of Twitter chats. I don't take part in these as much as I want to but when I do the time goes so quick and your evening can be gone instantly.
THERES A LOT OF PRESSURE IN KEEPING UP WITH A SCHEDULE
On my blog I have a schedule of posting every other day and it's one I find I can manage around my work and social life. However, sometimes when life gets on top of me this can become difficult but sometimes you feel like you have to keep up with it. Personally I would never force writing a post for a schedule as I wouldn't be giving it my all. So sometimes I will take a few days or even a week away from my blog to focus on my life, I did this a few times during my final year at university as trying to keep up with the schedule was too much around all the work. Although, I felt a pang of guilt about failing at keeping my schedule it was a break I needed and you end up coming back refreshed with new ideas.

Do you find that blogging can take over your life?
xo
Yes! I totally agree, definitely about everything being a photoshoot. I'm always thinking of my Instagram feed which also fits into having my phone in my hands all the time!

I agree with all of these! Especially with the bank account point, haha. It's kind of sad.
