COCKTAIL COSMETICS HAUL

It's definitely a blessing and a curse when you find out one of your favourite makeup stores has an actual shop near where you live - my poor bank account. I discovered Cocktail Cosmetics when someone told me thats where you could buy the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, although I haven't actually managed to order any of these yet and I'm kind of glad considering the controversy around him.

Jasmine from Jasmine Talks Beauty recently did a post and mentioned that there is a Cocktail Cosmetics store in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham which is about an hour from where I live but I was heading to Birmingham shopping recently so I had to call in there first.

I always think its better buying makeup when you can see it in person and really judge whether the colour etc. will suit you. The store stocks brands such as Morphe, Milani, LA Girl Cosmetics and lots of other brands you can normally only buy online in the UK. I was honestly like a kid in a candy shop and could have bough so much but I stuck to just a few items I really wanted.

Morphe 35OS Palette | £22.95

This is the shimmer version of the cult 35O that just seems to be out of stock everywhere and they didn't have it in the store either. They had both the matte and shimmer version of the pallet in store and I did want to buy both but I restrained myself and just picked up the shimmer one as I have quite of a lot of matte eyeshadows already. The 35O is a selection of earthy orange tones and not like a palette I already owned at all. So far i've been loving this I'm already a fan of the Morphe eyeshadows so I knew I would like the formula and I'm loving the orange shade selection.

This is another that I can't find on their website again but I have found it on Beauty Bay. I picked up this one as it wasn't like any brush I already owned and wanted to try out this style for foundation. The bristles are tightly packed and flare out to a flat top and I have found this makes my foundation apply so nice. This brush is part of the first Elite collection so it's of quite a high quality and the bristles are really soft on your skin.

Again this one isn't on the Cocktail Cosmetics website but you can buy this direct from Phee's Makeup Shop website. I'm a bit of a highlighter addict and this is honestly like nothing I own - who doesn't want a rainbow highlighter. It's obviously not something for everyday but it's such a pretty selection of colours, just look at that swatch below!

I've been wanting to try some of these Milani blushes for a while and almost placed an order from the Milani website before spotting these in the shop. These have got to be some of the prettiest shimmery blushes and are super pigmented. I went for the shades Corallina, which is a orangey coral shade and Dolce Pink that is a rose pink shade. As you can can see from the swatches these are really pigmented and I'm obsessed!

I've been after this for a while and spotted in the store and could properly match it to my skin tone. I went for the shade classic ivory as I like my concealer to be lighter than my skin tone. This concealer is quite thick with a brush applicator so its really good at hiding my dark circle. I do normally prefer a sponge applicator for a better application but the brush doesn't do a bad job. It's a squeeze tube so you can get out every last bit when you get to the end of it.

Do you own any of these products? What are your thoughts?

  17. I've always always wanted to try out the Morphe 350 palette. I had no idea how in-expensive it really was; I thought it was around the £40-50 waggon! It's so pretty!

  18. I ordered milani from here and had a really good experience. I liked how cheap the LA girl concealers were too and they've lasted me ages. The blushes are insanely pigmented I have to have such a light hand! I got berry amore, luminoso and rose d'oro
