Having tried out my fair share or beauty products and brands I have found there are some I love and some that just didn't live up expectations. This most is by no means to bash a product or brand but I just wanted to give my opinion on my why these products weren't for me. Many of these products I picked up after hearing other people rave about them and I have since come to the decision that they just aren't suited to me.
I know I've just included it in my new makeup haul but i'm just not getting on with it. Although, I have noticed my lashes getting slightly darker from the tint the mascara just doesn't give me the volume I'm looking for. I've been applying this as a sort of base to another mascara and to let the tint work. After reading on the Daily Mail people raving about the volume it gave them and how good it looked in the pictures it just hasn't done it for me.
I picked this one up on a whim as I needed a skin black eyeliner and honestly I couldn't be more disappointed in the £8 I spent. As soon asI tried to apply this to my eyelids the tip was so dry and to even get a faint line you have to push and drag so forcefully. I've tried again and again to use this but it's just too dry, i've pretty much come to terms that I may as well throw this away as its pretty much unusable to me.
I had high hopes for this as so many people use it and rave about it and when I first got it I did use it a lot. However, now after trying out a lot of other foundations me and this just don't get along. I have found it sits on my skin rather than blending in, I also found that even though it states that it controls oil my face seems to appear more greasy. I still keep using this to see if it works on my skin at different types but every time I wear it I regret it.
I actually find this formula to be similar to the MAC one where it sits heavy on my skin and it takes me ages to blend this one in. By the end of the day I feel like half of this has worn away or gone streaky, even with a good primer and setting spray. I have come to conclusion that this just doesn't match with my skin type as lots of other people have raved about it.
This is by no means a bad product and I do still use it, however, I bought this one as an alternative to the ABH DipBrow Pomade. Im comparison to the ABH one this isn't as creamy or easy to apply as I wanted. The formula seems to be a lot drier and you have to be quite forceful when applying to the brows, whereas the ABH one applies so smoothly with little pressure.
Again this isn't a bad product and I do use it! However, this smell of this is so off putting and not at all what you would expect from a high end product. The smell is very plastic and chemically to me and if you're paying almost £20 for a lip gloss I want it to smell sweet and luxurious.
What products have you be disappointed by?

Great post! I've done a few of these & the products that stand out as most disappointing are the Charlotte Tilbury skincare bits that I've tried. I hated that MAC foundation too! xx

I've never really got on with Rimmel Mascaras so i'll definitely be giving that one a miss. I recently picked up the NYX Tame and Frame I'm actually quite liking it. i've not tried the ABH one though. For me it is the Makeup Forever HD Foundation and concealer, Both are crap! xx

The Bourjois one is one of my holy grail full coverage foundations, I did find it works better with different brushes etc.. I recently got the Soap and Glory Foudation and it has to be the worst foundation I have ever tried!

I'm sorry these products didn't work for you :( I also can't get along with Rimmer mascara for some reason, maybe because it's the too watery formula. Is this one also watery?

MAC's Studio Fix Fluid used to be one of my favourites. But I think it's because it was one of the first foundations I've tried. Just like you, I've tried numerous other foundations that this product just can't match. Great post!

I think the biggest shock here is the MAC studio fix, I can't believe it! I love the foundation it's brilliant for me, it's unfortunate than some products dont work for others!

I was disappointed by the Brow Definer by ABH. I was so excited to receive it and when I started using it it was nothing like I expected! I do hear a lot of people who did like it though, and like you, I do still use it, but I guess I expected more. I agree with you on the MAC studio fix fluid though! Didn't love it either.
ReplyDeleteIf you have the time, I would love it if you could check out my page! I just started blogging and am desperate for literally any kind of advice! Only if you'd like of course, no pressure!

The shade of the Nars Lip Gloss is so nice, sucks that the scent is terrible!

I love the Nars shade so much I might put up with a terrible scent! Which one is pictured? Sucks that the Nyx liner was so dry, I hate when that happens.

Ohh no I just bought the NYX Tint and Frame Brown Pomade but I've not tried the ABH DipBrow - interesting to know though!

I'm currently suing this NYX pomade and I like it but I agree that it doesn't apply very smoothly. I was recently disappointed with the new Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, I have two shades and I wasn't blown away by the pigmentation and that's what I was expecting for the price. x
