SPRING LIPSTICKS

Oh Hello Spring - Finally! I'm so glad the weather finally seems to be improving and its actually still light at 7pm thanks to the clocks changing! With Spring coming it means that the deep berry tones and red lipsticks are put away in favour of soft nudes and pinks. This time of year I find its the your lips but better shades that are perfect and here is my selection of spring shades.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Nude-ist | £8.99 | post

This was my first ever liquid lipstick and its still one of my favourite to this day. Although its called Nude-ist i'd say its more of a mauve pink but still a lovely shade. The Formula is creamy and velvety and sits on the lips perfectly without drying them out. I'm now eyeing up their new range of Souffle De Velvet, which is matte with a sheer finish.

Rimmel Kate Nude Lipstick in #43 | £5.49 | post

The shades I have from the Kate Moss nude collection have all been winners for me. The shade #43 is a caramel nude shade and one that sort of enhances the natural shade of your lips. These lipsticks are also moisturising and leave your lips soft and plump even after hours of wear.

Topshop Lipstick in Innocent | £8.00 | post

This is a soft dusky pink shade almost like a very soft rose pink. The lipstick has a velvet finish but is still moisturising and you get a lovely slick of colour after one swipe. I'm a big fan of Topshop lipstick and think the formula is very similar to MAC, the shade selection is also great.

Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Peony | £19.00

Another liquid lipstick I love and need to try out some more of the shades. The melted lipsticks come in a tube with a sponge applicator at the end, different to the wand you get in most others. Peony is as your would expect a rose pink shade. Once on your lips it has staying power and intense colour play off but with a slight shine.

KIKO Rebel Romantic Lipstick in #01 | £6.90

After swatching i've realise this is pretty much the liquid version of Bourjois' Nude-ist but just a little lighter. Its another mauve pink shade with a satin finish.

MAC Flamingo | £15.50 | post

This was my favourite lip shade for the spring/summer last year and I'm so happy its finally acceptable to start wearing it again. Flamingo is a softy milky coral with a lustre finish - I would say it applies more like a balm that a lipstick.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss in Rose & Shine | £9.00

I'm not much of a gloss wearer but this is one I carry round with me a lot. The soft pink shade is perfect for one of those times you might need some colour but don't want anything too intense. The Sexy Mother Pucker glosses also contain lip plumping spheres which tingle upon application but plump up the lips.

Rimmel Kate Lipstick in #35 | £5.49 | post

This has to be the perfect Barbie pink shade and one of the more out there shades in this post. It's a fuchsia shades with a blue undertone and the formula is creamy and moisturising.

Maybelline Color Drama Lipstick in Minimalist | £4.99 | post

These are lipsticks that I love but always seem to neglect when they fall to the back of my collection. The Color Drama lip pencil is velvety and smooth and give the lips an opaque slick of colour. Minimalist is a soft rose pink shade with a very slight shimmer.

What are your spring lip picks?

  15. The Bourjois Rouge Edition Lip products have been on my list for quite some time now, I particularly love the shade you've swatched! I love mauve/nude shades, heavily rotating between Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria and Bond Girl right now. I also use Fresh Honey sugar lip treatment to add some moisture back in as well.
