NYX LIP LINGERIE | REVIEW AND SWATCHES

When I saw that NYX were releasing an entire collection of nude liquid lipsticks I just had to try them. I really love the NYX Matte Lip Creams (post) so was expecting a lot from these and they haven't disappointed. The collection includes 12 nude shades ranging from pinks to browns all with a matte finish. The Lip Lingeries are priced at £6.50 and available from Boots in the UK.


I decided not to get these as soon as they were released so I could read some reviews and see some swatches (especially as the Boots website is awful at showing you the shades). From the collection I decided to pick shades more towards the darker end as I have quite a lot of pale and pinky nudes and my collection was lacking darker shades.

As far as the packaging is concerned its a lot more high end than the £6.50 price tag - another bonus. Its housed in a clear tube (I prefer this to the Matte Lip Creams as you can see the true colour) with a black lid and very much reminds me of the Kylie Lip Kits. At the end of the wand you get a flat sponge applicator, which I have found gives such a smooth application to the lips and as its quite flat you can line the edges of your lips easily.

Here are the shades I picked up:

Bedtime Flirt 

This was a last minute purchase for me as I was staying away from the pinky nudes but when I saw it swatched by Fashion Influx, it looked like such a lovely shade and one i'd wear a lot. Its a pinky nude with cooler undertones.

Honeymoon

When I saw this swatched I thought it was a shade i'd never tried before and one that would be a favourite for me in the winter months. Its a greyish brown nude and one I think will look good with a subtle smokey eye.

Embellishment

I always get drawn to purple lipsticks and this is no different. Although it isn't a colour I wear everyday I love going a bit out there sometimes. Embellishment is a dusky purple shade.

Beauty Mark

This is probably the shade i'd wear the least out of the four but its one i've never tried or owned before. Its a cool chocolate brown shade and i'd say its a very 90s shade, I'm excited to wear this one out for the first time.

It terms of formula I didn't find them too drying but I always apply a balm underneath as my lips get dry quickly. To get a full opaque look you need two coats in my opinion and no patches. 

I'll definitely be picking up some more of these shades in the future and will try out some of the paler pinkier ones. The £6.50 price tag is affordable and they are definitely on par with some of the more expensive liquid lipsticks out there.
