MINI NYX HAUL

NYX has actually been everywhere recently, especially since it is now readily available in the UK from Boots, ASOS, Selfridges and Feel Unique. I just can't believe its taken me this long to pick up some products. I'm pretty sure I used to own one of their lipsticks about 3 years ago when it was available from Next but I think I got rid of it a while ago. I'm also annoyed at myself that when I was in NY last June I planned to pick up some products there and forgot to go back to the store for them. This haul is from both ASOS when they had 20% student discount and I got the powder using my boots points.

I've been on the hunt for a translucent loose powder for a while as I don't really want to use my NARS pressed powder everyday. I had about £10 worth of boots points so ordered this online to be delivered to my local store (i'm so impressed with how quick their delivery is to stores and its free!). This powder is white in colour but that doesn't translate at all to the skin like some people have said about other translucent powders. I actually think this is very much like the texture of icing sugar and you need to be careful when putting your brush in the pot as it can go everywhere. Once applied to your skin it just seals all your makeup and also mattifies it but doesn't make it feel dry.

I have wanted to try these for so long and boy I was missing out. I opted for the shades London (brown nude), Cannes (pink nude) and Prague (deep mauve) first but there is definitely more I want/need! These apply smoothly to the lips with the sponge applicator and kind of leave and invisible slick of colour as your really don't feel like anything is on your lips. The formula is soft and velvety and doesn't dry your lips out, you do tend to need a reapplication after eating but the staying power is pretty good.

I picked out this one as my under eyes have a slight blue tint to them and whilst some concealers cover it to begin with, throughout the day it wears away. This cream based products comes in a little pot so you need to apply with a brush or your fingers, I've been applying mine with a concealer brush and buffing in with a larger brush and then setting with a powder and it looks that way pretty much all day. I have the shade light and its sort of a pinky nude shade and definitely brightens the under eyes.

What are your favourite NYX products?!

  9. I really want to try a finishing powder that doesn't provide extra coverage - might have to give this one a go. Those lip creams look amazing!
