EYE BRIGHTENING TOOLS

Until the past 6 months I rarely worse eyeshadow everyday and left that to my nights out. But after my collection has grown I've started playing around with eye looks everyday and one of my most important parts is getting that inner corner highlight. If you have close set eyes (where you can't fit one of your own eyes in the middle of your eyes) like me, then brightening the inner corner is important to make them appear wider apart - it also looks pretty gorgeous. My favourite products for getting that highlight is cream eyeshadows and pencils, so here they...

KIKO Cream Crush Eyeshadow in #05 Pearly Silver Rose | £6.90

I'm so obsessed with the silver glitter in this cream shadow and its the perfect thing when you want something a little more out there. The shade is an almost taupe silver shade with specks of glitter. The texture of these shadows are super creamy and blend beautifully on top of other shadows.

KIKO Cream Crush Eyeshadow in #11 Pearly Light Rose | £6.90

I had to include another of these cream eyeshadows in this post as I just love them and have a pretty big collection now after picking some up in the sale. This shade is a little more subtle that than other, its a soft pearl pink shade with a very slight shimmer and blends beautifully in the corner and also on the brow bone.

KIKO Metallic Shine Eyeshadow in #01 | £3.40

I'm sensing a bit of a KIKO theme here, but you honestly need to check out their eye makeup range. This one is from their Rebel Romantic collection and its a mix between a cream and powder finish. The shade is a sort of off white with a shimmer to it.

KIKO Eyetech Look Eyeshadow in #102 Metallic Rich Gold | £5.90

I actually got this in a KIKO order and don't even remember ordering it, unless they sent me it for free. This is one of those pencils with a little smudging tool on the end and the lid contains the product for you to dip into. This shade is a rich gold with a metallic finish.

Rimmel Scandeleyes Shadow Stick in #002 Bulletproof Beige | £4.49

This is another one that doesn't match up to the colour or name on the website, in my opinion its much more of a bronze shade rather than beige. I like to use this one when my eyeshadow is a little darker so there isn't so much of a contrast but my eyes are still brightened

KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in #07 Golden Beige | £6.90 | post

Shock another KIKO favourite but these are honestly amazing and i've heard an amazing dupe for some high end favourites. I actually wouldn't go by the swatches on the website as this looks so much like a bronze shade but in real life its more of a shimmery beige. This is the more subtle of the lot but still brightens the eyes even when you don't want anything too bright or shimmery.

Milani Brow and Eye Highlighter in Matte Cream/Luminous Lift | £5.95

This was one of my New York purchases and the first Milani products i've tried. I picked this up to highlight my brow bone but I actually prefer it around my eyes. It'd double ended with a matte, creamy shade one end and a shimmery one on the other. This one is the pearly pink version of the three on sale.

Primark Matte and Shimmer Pencil | around £1

If you haven't been in Primark recently then go and check it out, they've really upped their beauty department game and they have some great looking products all for around a pound.  This pencil is doubled ended with a matte white one end and a shimmer white the other, i've been using this to whiten the waterline of my eye and a tiny bit in the inner corner. The application is smooth and you get just the right amount of product.

Have you tried any of these products?

  2. I love the milano brow and eye highlight! It does such a good job, sometimes I'll also use a really light cream concealer to put in my inner conners and blend and it looks so brightening!!

  3. I mostly wear more smokey eyeshadows on myself because I have larger eyes, but I still love many of the products your mention, like the Milani one, but I only like the matte side of it. I find the luminous end kinda chunky.
