HIGHLIGHT | CREAM VS. POWDER

My makeup look wouldn't be complete without that perfect slick of highlighter across my cheeks, it really finishes of my look and leaves me glowing all day. Having a golden shimmer across your cheek bones can instantly lift a girls confidence. My collection includes a mix between powder and cream and different pigmentations and here are just a few...

THE HAPPINESS POST

I definitely have some days where I'm in a bit of a funk and nothing seems to be able to cheer me up. I have decided though that I now need to become a much more positive person and if something doesn't go my way then its something to learn from and not dwell on. For todays post I thought i'd go through 25 things that cheer me up, put a smile on my face or give me that warm fuzzy feeling inside.

CONTOURING THE RIGHT WAY

In case some of you didn't know, I actually started a professional makeup course in January at the Arts University Bournemouth. Obviously makeup is a big passion of mine so learning how to apply it to other people and do it the right way is something i've been interested in for a while. One of big things I've learnt so far is how to contour and highlight the right way for each face shade, so as good as it may look when YouTubers do it in their videos it isn't the same for everyone.

THE NUDE LIP EDIT

When it comes to lipsticks, i'm pretty obsessed and as my mum says I have a problem. But I just can't resist all the pretty shades and finishes and of course no two shades are really the same! For day-to-day lipstick wearing it's got to be a nude shade for me, I want something to enhance my natural lips and have quite a collection of nudes to choose from. Here are the ones I reach for the most.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION | ULTRA EYESHADOW PALETTE

February for me has been a no spend month, excluding the slip up I had last weekend when I spotted the Olivia Palermo Ciate Cheek Cheat in TK Maxx (I just had to get it, as you don't know when it would be in there again!) So since no new beauty products will be entering my life I'm rotating some of my products and making use of some of my old ones. This Makeup Revolution palette has been collecting dust at the back of my box of palettes for probably 9 months now as I accumulated so many other pretty palettes.

THE PURPLE EDIT | NAILS

Recently i've been loving wearing a purple nail, I feel like its one of those perfect transitional colours from winter to summer and there is such a variety of shades. I'm even sat writing this post with purple nails!

KIKO LONG LASTING STICK EYESHADOW

If you've been reading my blog lately you'll know that i've recently become obsessed with KIKO and may have spent quite a lot in there sale. I was browsing their sale again a couple of weeks ago with no intention of buying anything and spotted these eyeshadow sticks in the sale down to £3.40! I had been looking at these for a while after hearing they were a great dupe for the By Terry ones, so when I saw them in the sale I couldn't miss the opportunity.

VALENTINES DAY MAKEUP

Happy Valentines Day everybody! I hope your all have a lovely day, whether your spending it with a partner, friends or family! I celebrated mine yesterday with my boyfriend as we headed out for a meal in Bournemouth as he is visiting me for the week and today will be spent cosied up watching films before he heads home tonight. I also wanted to say a massive Happy Birthday to my mum today if you're reading this and sorry I can't be there! Valentines day is quite special for us girls as it means being able to get a little glammed and this makeup look is perfect for a quiet lunch out or a hot date.

ESSENTIAL MAKEUP BRUSHES

When it comes to my makeup brushes I probably have more than I actually need, but they have some more different uses right?! In this post i've narrowed it down to the 10 brushes that are my essentials and could probably complete my daily makeup with just them.

BECCA x JACLYN HILL | CHAMPAGNE POP HIGHLIGHTER

Finally this beauty is mine and I couldnt be more obsessed! I wasn't actually that interested when this was first released as I had lots of other highlighters I thought were very similar. However, after reading a couple of blog posts and seeing it featured in some YouTube videos I realised this was just any highlighter.

MY BLOGS 1ST BIRTHDAY + GIVEAWAY

I can't actually believe I've had my blog a whole year today. It seems like only yesterday I was reading countless blogs and decided it was something I could do. I'm so glad I finally took the plunge and started my own blog, i've had such a fun year discovering new beauty products and being able to share some of my favourites with you.

THE PINK LIP EDIT

Now that the stress of my exams is over, I've decided to start digging out some of my old beauty products and make sure to use them instead of my old favourites. I recently posted a pink nail edit (here) but todays post is all about pink lips. When it comes to lipstick i'm a little obsessed and probably don't need any more but that won't be stopping me. Pink has to be one of my favourite colours to wear on the lips as you can go from a vibrant fuchsia to a subtle dusky pink.

HIGH END PRODUCTS WORTH THE SPLURGE

When it comes to makeup my collection is a mix between drugstore and high end. Whilst i'll always be a drugstore kind of gal and love finding great products and dupes for high end products, sometimes you really can't go wrong with spending that little bit extra. When it comes to buying high end pieces they are normally something i'll splurge on occasionally or I receive at presents.

NARS | LIGHT REFLECTING PRESSED POWDER

I'm a real sucker for sparkly makeup, from eyeshadows to highlighters and blushers when it comes to that little bit of sparkly you can't go wrong. For months i'd been eyeing up this sparkly powder at countless NARS counters but always left empty handed. After mentioning to my mum just before christmas I was lucky enough to find it under the tree this year. NARS is always a brand I love to look at but don't very often purchase due to the fact of the price and my poor student bank account.
