Merry Christmas everybody and I hope you are all having a wonderful day whatever your doing! I actually scheduled this post a few days ago so don't worry I'm not blogging on christmas day! I actually love the festive season, not only for the all the lights, decorations and happy feelings but also how you can vamp up you makeup routine a little - glittery eyeshadows, shimmery highlighters and lashings of lipstick. Here are some of the makeup products i'll be wearing today.
BASE
When it comes to the festive season I like my makeup to last a long time, if I'm heading christmas shopping you can guarantee i'll be gone for a while. Estée Lauder Double Wear has to be the most long-lasting foundation I've ever tried and it won't have budged an each, even after a day walking round the shops. Whilst its a little heavy for everyday use, if I know i'll be out for a while then this will be my go to choice. For a little added extra definition i'll use my Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel on the hollows of my cheeks and around my hairline. This has to be one of my favourite bronzers and the smell is delicious.
HIGHLIGHT
This is what the festive season is all about a glowing, shimmery face and you can't go wrong with this The Balm Mary Lou Manizer. The most intense shimmery champagne shade with incredible pigmentation, you need just a tiny amount on your brush to get the perfect shimmer. I apply this in a C patter around the edge of my eye and apple of my cheek and to my brow bone and cupids bow for the all over glow.

EYES
This is one of my favourite parts about festive makeup. I feel that you can experiment more with rich glittery tones, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette contains the most amazing selection of golds, bronzes, browns and purples. Some of my favourite shades are Marzipan (a shimmery rose champagne shade), Créme Brûlée (a rich bronze shade), Black Forest Truffle (a sparkly red wine shade) and Candied Violet (a deep shimmery violet). Another love of mine is the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos and they have a great selection of metallics perfect for the Christmas season. On and On Bronze and Metallic Pomegranate are two of my current go tos - On and On Bronze is as you can probably tell a shimmery bronze shade and Metallic Pomegranate is a glittery deep berry shade. I love these and you can build them up for an intense look and they can also be worn as a base for eyeshadow.
LIPS
For me the festive season is all about the perfect red lip. Charlotte Tilbury is a recent favourite of mine and the lipsticks are to die for, Red Carpet Red is a deep berry red shade with a matte finish. The lipstick also has a very slight shimmer to it for that extra shine once applied.
