BORN PRETTY | HOLOGRAPHIC NAIL POLISH REVIEW

I recently blogged about a brush I received from the lovely people at Born Pretty Store (post here) and so here is the second product I received from them. I was asked to choose two products and so when trawling through their website I noticed this holographic nail polish* and knew straight away this would be one of my products. I've been on the hunt for a silver holographic nail polish for ages and the only one i've found is from Urban Outfitters, but at £12 for the bottle I didn't want to spend that much without knowing how good it was.

When the polish arrived I was a little disappointed that the bottle was quite small (6ml), but its a shade that I wouldn't be wearing everyday so I'm hoping it will last me quite a while. However, the Urban Outfitters polish is only 8ml and with this one being priced at $12.88 (converted to about £8.50) its definitely better value for money. The packaging is very sleek as you can see with a simply cubic tube, very similar to the NARS nail polishes.

I applied this over the Models Own HyperGel in Everyday Grey, admittedly this grey was probably a little too dark and next time i'll applied over either a white nail or a pale grey so you can get a better effect. The consistency isn't too thick or gloopy but you would need a few coats to get the full effect. For my look I applied a base coat, 2 coats of the grey, 2 coats of this polish and a quick drying top coat and my nails were fully dry with 20 minutes! I even accidentally smudged one of my thumbs and it was instantly repaired with a few coats of the glitter.

I love the way you can see the different colours in the sunlight and this is the perfect polish for the upcoming christmas party season. You can get 10% off your order from Born Pretty with the code SADH10 and there is some great picks for christmas presents!

  1. That polish looks so pretty!! It looks a little blue in the photos than grey, but maybe it's just the lighting. It looks lovely on you though!
