In my beauty stash you'll find a mixture between high end and drug store. Personally I think you can't really go wrong with drugstore makeup and there is some great high end dupes out there - also now I'm a student again I don't think i'll be spending £30+ on a foundation any time soon! I can spend hours trawling through Boots and Superdrug looking at all the products and you can always get amazing deals like 3 for 2 or free gifts with a purchase. So today I want to bring to you a complete face of the day using only drugstore products.
Starting with my base, one of my favourite drugstore purchases is The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Universal, I got it in a duo with the All-In-One BB Cream which i'd used before. The Instablur creates the perfect photo-finish skin and blurs out all imperfections leaving you with the smoothest base for your foundation. I follow this with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in the shade Soft Beige, it instantly reawakens skin and leaves you with a radiant glow. This foundation is a medium coverage and perfect for an everyday makeup look. For my concealer I recently picked up Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, in the blogging world everyone raves about this and priced at £4.19 I had to try it out. This concealer is perfect for hiding dark eyes and imperfections and isn't thick and cakey like some can be - I can see this giving my NARS Cream Concealer a run for its money.
Makeup Revolution's Pressed Powder in Translucent is my go to drug store powder and perfectly minimises shine, I have found this to be very similar to my MAC Blot Powder Pressed. When choosing a powder I opt for translucent shades as I don't like to add any more colour to my face, so this is perfect for reducing shine without altering the colour. To help achieve perfectly sculpted cheek bones I reach for my SEVENTEEN Define & Conquer Contour Kit, It has a gorgeous chocolate brown shade for giving definition to the hollows of my cheeks. I use the light shade on the centre of my forehead, nose and cupids bow to help brighten those areas.
I picked up the Collection Speedy Highlighter when there was an offer on in Boots and it gives you a gorgeous radiant glow. Ive never used a highlighter before in one of these tubes and so I was intrigued to see how it works, once i've applied to the top of my cheeks its needs blending in with a brush but leaves a lovely shimmer. For my blush, you can't go wrong with the MUA Blushers, at only £1 they are perfect and allow you to experiment with different shades. I favour the shade Cupcake, it's pastel peachy, pink shade adds a lovely flush of pink to your cheeks. The pigmentation isn't the greatest in the world but for £1 you can't go wrong.
On to the brows one of my favourite drugstore eyebrow pencils is the Rimmel Professional Eyebrown Pencil, I struggle a little with eyebrow pencils as some are so dry they just don't transfer onto my brows but this one is the perfect formula. I have the shade hazel and it is a little too dark for me - please release a blonder version Rimmel!! Recently i've become obsessed with the Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24hr (I recently reviewed two shades here), when I was last in boots I picked up 3 more colour and tried out the matte leather effect shades. I'm loving the shade Vintage Plum which is a leather effect dark plum/purple shade, its applies smoothly and leaves a gorgeous slick of colour. For my lashes I've been using the SEVENTEEN SUPERlash Mascara, it adds extended length to my lashes and is lightweight so my lashes don't feel at all heavy.
To finish off my look i'll add a slick of colour to my lips, Sleek have such a fashion forward selection of lipsticks and i'm loving the shade Barely There. It's a nude shade which I would say is a 'your lips but better' colour. The finish of this one is sheen and so there is a slight shine but it is very moisturising and doesn't leave my lips dry.
What are your drugstore makeup picks?
