#BLOGGERSFESTIVAL

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be able to attend the #BloggersFestival organised by Scarlett Dixon from Scarlett London. This was the first blogging event I've been able to attend since I started blogging and so I was a little apprehensive, luckily I spoke to a few girls on Twitter to meet before the event - so much easier walking in somewhere with someone else! As this was my first blogging event I wasn't really aware of what to expect or what it would be like. When I first arrived there were so many girls there and it was a little overwhelming but once I was in the room I felt much more at ease.

The event was held at the Conrad Hotel in London (I really need to stay at this hotel now), which was pretty much round the corner from St James' Park Tube Station - luckily for me I had a direct train in Paddington and then one tube, a daunting process for a non-Londoner like myself. The event itself lasted about three hours in the afternoon and I'd say this was the perfect length of time. I spent the time wandering round the various brands there and meeting other bloggers (strange finally meeting people in person who you have spoke to online).

There was so many brands at the event to interact with and I've discovered some products that are now on my wish list. I myself would never have the confidence to contact brands myself to work with them, so it was so nice to be able to meet people in person (everyone was so lovely) and how open they are about wanting to work with bloggers. At the event there was a wide range of brands including fashion, beauty/skincare, food/beverage and even Lego!!

The first brand that caught my eye with their incredible shabby chic display was Jewellery Box, they are a London based retail brand who 'want to break down the barriers between fine jewellery and fashion jewellery'. I love wearing simple but stylish jewellery (I never take off my Dogeared necklaces) and the Jewellery Box collection is perfect for me, they had a wide variety of rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings in silver, gold and rose gold all at affordable prices. Everyone at the festival even got their own little gift, mine included a rose gold arrow ring and infinity necklace - i'd actually been eyeing both of these up whilst there.

Another brand who I was super excited about seeing there was Nanshy, i've actually been looking at getting these brushes for a while so it was great to see them in person and how soft they are. At the event you received a free eyeliner brush and there was also the opportunity to win the entire collection, unfortunately I didn't win but I think i'll be making a purchase soon. Brodie & Stone were also at the event, they are a marketing company that have created and represented brands including T-Zone, Balance Active Formula and Natural World. At the event I got a goody bag which included some hair oils from Natural World and a Hyaluronic Moisturised & Vitamin C Power Serum from Balance Active Formula. I'll be posting a more detailed review soon after I've tried out the products properly.

Exuviance was a brand i'd never heard of before the event but now I'm excited about trying it out. They are an relatively new American dermatologist developed skincare line without the medical smell you can sometimes get. At the event they gave away a full size product to each attendee to suit their skin tone, personally I don't suffer particularly bad with my skin so I was advised to try out the Microdermabrasion Face Polish. It contains papaya enzymes and smells absolutely gorgeous, i've not tried this product out yet but a review will be coming soon.

Also at the event was The Perfume Shop who had an adorable Barbie set up with a selection of their fragrances and the most delicious cupcakes. It was so good to be able to test of some perfumes i'd not smelt before and discovered some new favourites. OlympÄ“a by Paco Rabanne caught my eye straight away from the gorgeous bottle and it smelt just as good, I even got a mini sample to use. I also discovered the new Juicy Couture perfume, I am Juicy Couture, i'm the biggest fan of their perfumes and so this one is definitely on my christmas list (I know it's too soon!)

There were so many other brands at the event I wish I could talk about them all but this post is already quite wordy so i'll leave it here. I just want to thank Scarlett again for inviting me and organising the event and hope to be able to attend more in future and to meet some more lovely bloggers.

Were any of you at the event?

  3. Loved reading your post on the event, you've put it together so well! I'm so pleased that you had a nice time (it always makes it worthwhile to hear feedback like yours) and thank you for the lovely words at the end! I didn't get to see The Perfume Shop's stall in all it's glory, so it's fab seeing it in your pictures!

Thanks again for coming along - we'll catch up at the next event!
