HOW MUCH IS MY FACE WORTH?

NYC | SEPHORA HAUL

I hope you all enjoyed reading my MAC haul from New York, this one is going to be all about the goodies I picked up from Sephora whilst I was over there. I have to say when I first went in there I was like a kid in a candy shop, there was so much make up to look at and test out - I didn't know where to start! This post is a little more varied compared to my MAC one which was mostly lipsticks!

I had a few bits that I knew I definitely wanted to pick up from there and the others were mostly impulse buys!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette - If you read my NYC wish list post you'll know that this one was on there. When I got to Sephora I did contemplate whether or not to buy it as there was so many other eye shadow palettes to choose from! However, if I hadn't have bought I knew I would have regretted it! The selection of colours really is amazing and although you have mostly nudes and browns the purple shades thrown in make the palette pop! Also, the packaging will look so adorable on my dressing table!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - This was a purchase that was kind of an impulse as I knew I wanted to buy a new mascara but wasn't really sure what one. I was looking at the Too Faced ones as i'd heard they were good but never tried them myself. I originally looked at the Better Than False Lashes Extreme Lash Extension set with the lash extensions fibres but I wasn't sure i'd use it enough. Now I'm so glad I bought this one instead, I have been using it for a few days now and it really is amazing! It leaves my lashes full and volumised with impressive length, I have been using it on its own, whereas previously I would use 2-3 different mascaras.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free - This was another one that was on my wish list as I have used tinted moisturisers before but only cheaper ones from drug stores and was keen to try and a high end product. Ive heard a lot of good reviews about Laura Mercier before and knew this was the one I wanted to try out, I was originally going to get the normal one but opted for the oil free version as I prefer my face to look matte.

Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil Primer 60ml - Being a blonde takes a lot of work and having my hair highlighted every couple of months does leave it looking a little dull and dry. Ive tried lots of different oils, masques and sprays to try and get my hair looking healthy, some I've found really worked and others pretty useless. When I was queuing to pay at Sephora they also have a selection of mini products to tease you into buying so I picked out this Bumble and Bumble Oil Primer. Ive used it a couple of times now and can definitely feel that my hair is a lot softer and shinier, once I've finished using the mini version i'll definitely be buying the larger one.

Tarte Play it Safe Essentials Set - This was another impulse purchase at the till, Ive not tried out the Tarte products before and was keen to see what this one was about as you get a selection of mini versions. The set provides you with everything you need to get that bronzed summer glow. In the set you receive the Tarteguard sunscreen lotion SPF30, Maracuja self tanner bronzing serum, Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer is Park Ave Princess and Brazilliance skin rejuvenating maracuja self tanner and face towelette. Out of the set I've only used the face towelette but it definitely gave me a summer bronzed glow and didn't smell at all like fake tan, and I've used the Amazonian Clay bronzer which adds a lovely glow to your face.

Anastasia Beverly Hill Dipbrow Pomade in Blonde - Ive has this product before but made the mistake of purchasing the wrong colour. I originally had soft brown thinking it would be perfect for me as my eyebrows are a little darker  than my blonde hair, however it made them too dark and washed my face out. This time I decided to try out the blonde shade as I've used blonde eyebrow pencils before and they are the perfect colour.

Too Faced Melt Your Heart Out Set - This was another product that was on my NYC wish list, Ive read a lot of reviews that these are amazing. I was originally hoping to buy a coral shade, however, when I saw this set I couldn't resist as you get a normal version of the melted lipstick and a mini version of the melted metal - for just $4 more. In the set you get a full size melted lipstick in the shade Peony which can be described as a dusty rose, I would say that this is quite a nudey pink. The mini melted metal you get in the shade is Dream House, a metallic bright fuchsia. With the melted metals you get a hint of glitter compared to the matte of the normal melted lipstick.

Fresh Rose Face Mask - On my last trip into Sephora I found out that with my Beauty Insider card I had 100 points enough to claim a free product. I chose this Fresh Rose Face Mask as I'm always keen to to try out new skin care products, when I first opened it I was shocked to see that it was actually a brown gel colour as I just assumed it would be a cream. I haven't actually tried this out yet, but Ive read that this is a really love fresh product which cools your face down and leaves it really soft. Ive actually found the full size one online and at $62.00 for a 100ml version I'm quite glad that I chose this as my free sample.

I hope you all enjoyed reading my second NYC beauty haul this time from Sephora.

Have any of you tried these products before?

Love,

NYC LIFE

So I'm really ashamed that I haven't blogged in almost two weeks, however, I have been having the best time in New York and then when i got bad my Mac charger had broken (bye bye £65 for a new one)!

I've been back from NYC now for 5 days and I'm seriously depressed, it really is such a magical city and even though this is my third visit, there was still so much to see. For this blog post I really want to give an overview of all the things I did whilst I was out there, so there won't be much beauty but I do have some haul posts planned from MAC and Sephora.

I flew out to New York to visit one of my friends who is interning out there for an events company (dream!!), so it was really nice to catch up with her and explore the city together! She was staying on the upper east side (very Gossip Girl) near Central Park and it was such a good location!

On the thursday when I arrived I quickly got changed and we headed down to Times square on the subway, the atmosphere whilst your there really is mad. There is so many different types of people walking round and so much to look at, for dinner we decided on Bubba Gump which do the most amazing fried shrimp! After that we explored Times Square and headed into Sephora and MAC where I had to resist and not to spend all my money at once, you'll see in my haul posts what I picked up!

On the next day my friend was working, so I headed down to to near where she works by the Flat Iron building on Fifth Avenue for some shopping. She also took me to one of the most amazing shops, it was a budget beauty store call Harmon with some amazing brands at a fraction of the price! They had EOS lip balms and less the $3 so of course I had to pick up 10 of them! In the evening we headed to this amazing restaurant called Dallas BBQ, which was really cheap and did the most delicious BBQ food and we even got free cupcakes at the end!

Saturday and Sunday were definitely the days with the best weather and when I did some serious shopping! Saturday morning we headed to a cute diner called EJ's for a proper American breakfast of french toast - the portions in the US are so big, I don't think I ever finished a meal! After that we headed to Bloomingdales where I picked up some presents for my family and also some other bits from Sephora. In the afternoon we decided to get cupcakes and sit in the park and then had a browse round Fifth Avenue and the legendary toy shop, FAO Schwarz. For dinner we had some famous NY pizza and when they say New Yorkers make the best pizza they weren't wrong!

On sunday we headed down to Macy's in the morning as this was the only place that sold the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit that I just had to have! We made the mistake of not realising that it would open until late on sunday so sat in the sunshine at Herald Square and even got a selfie with a NY Cop! After i'd done some last minute shopping we headed downtown to Ground Zero as on my previous trips it wasn't open. Being there was such a surreal feeling and one I really can't describe, but the pools are such a touching tribute to all of those who lost their lives. After that we made out way back uptown and called in the Dash store on the way on Spring St secretly in the hope I would see one of the Kardashian girls there (no such luck)! In the evening we headed into Central Park again, after having some lovely frozen yoghurt, as ended up walking to a roller disco in the middle of the park - if only I could skate!

With my last day being monday I wanted to pick up some last minute shopping bits and then pack and get ready for my long night flight back to the UK. I headed back to Harmon as I couldn't resist the cheap beauty products and ended up picking up some more EOS lip balm, on the way back to the accommodation I picked up some American treats (I'm contemplating on a blog post about the American candy I picked up, what do you think?!).

Now that I'm back in the UK and thinking about everything I got up to in the City that never sleeps its making me so much more depressed about being back! I will definitely going back to New York in the future and hope its sooner rather than later!

I hope you all enjoyed reading about my time in New York and come back to read about my make up hauls form MAC and Sephora!

Love,
