SUMMER LIP COLOURS

Evening everybody, what have you all been up to this weekend?

I'm finding it really hard to believe that we are almost 6 months through the year, it feels like only yesterday I was putting my christmas tree up and now its half way through May. The warmer weather is now attempting (I have to say attempting as one day it's t-shirt weather and the next I'm wrapped back up in my coat) to make an appearance, so my orange, pink and coral lipsticks are now being used more & more often.

I have selected some of my favourite S/S lip colours including a selection of high end and high street brands. Here are my picks:

Barry M #158 (available here) £4.49 - I've actually had this lip colour for a while now and every summer it makes an appearance, it's a gorgeous vibrant, neon coral shade with a satin finish. I have found this shade to be very similar to the Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in In With Coral (previous blog post here), the Barry M shade has more orange undertones whilst the Maybelline lip pencil is much more pink. The only downfall to this lipstick is that I found it to be quite drying and it can make my lips look quite flakey, the best way I find to stop this is to apply a light coat of lip balm to add moisture and the colour looks perfect.

CHANEL ROUGE COCO SHINE Hydrating Sheer Lipshine Flirt (available here) £25.00 - This is first and only Chanel Lipstick I currently own, but it definitely won't be my last. My mum picked this up for me in the airport when they went on holiday a couple of months ago and I wanted a summery shade. When I was looking at the shades online I saw that it was being shown as an orangey shade which did surprise as I didn't see this shade as orange at all. I would say this is more of a coral/pink colour with maybe a hint of orange, so please don't be confused when buying online. This is a great colour for summer as its quite light and add a simple slick of shine and colour.

Sleek Barely There (available here) £4.99 - This shade is a lovely peachy nude and its the perfect summer colour for when you don't want anything too bright. I wear this colour a lot at the moment in the transition from spring to summer when a bright pink or coral could be a bit too much. The formulation of Sleek lipsticks is also lovely and moisturising and I found the lipstick stayed really well and only needed a little reapplication after eating.

MAC Flamingo (available here) £15.50 - I won't go into too much detail on this one as I reviewed it previously here. It's a gorgeous neon coral shade with a lustre finish so it adds a lovely shine.

Topshop Infrared (available here) £8.00 - This is vibrant blood orange red shade, I think this shade is very similar to MAC Lady Danger but a little more orangey. This is one of those colours that instantly brightens up your face and the formulation is lovely. You can ready about some of my other Topshop lippies here, in my recent Topshop Beauty Haul.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick Bewitching Coral (available here) £7.99 - Ive actually had this shade in my collection for years, it was the colour I always wore on a night out when I first started clubbing at 18. This is actually my third one as I lost my second one on a night out, after that I actually forgot about how much I loved the shade until I bought it again about six months ago. As the name may suggest this is vibrant coral shade, I would say its more red rather than pink unlike some of my other coral shades. I find that this shade is really well pigmented and has amazing staying power on a night out.

So you've just heard about some of my favourite summer lip colours. Do any of you use these lip shades? Or do you have any great summer lip colour suggestions?!

Love,
