MUA HAUL

I have always been a massive fan of Makeup Academy as they produce high quality make up without the high quality price. They are exclusively sold at Superdrug in store and online and also on there own website. Most of their items are priced at under £4, even some selling at just a £1! They also have a Luxe collection which includes Velvet Lip Lacquers and the new Whipped Velvet Blush and Lips (these are a must in my next purchase)!

When I was on their website and saw they had a sale on I couldn't resist a splurge. I got all of the above items for less that £12, with some of these lipsticks priced at just 50p!!

Let me talk you through some of the products I got...

Intense Glosses in Pucker Up and Quick Smooch

These are a high intensity lip gloss which can be worn with lipstick or on their own. Both of these were in the sale at just 75p! I especially love the names of these and they will be perfect for valentines day. Pucker up is the deep blood red shade and Quick Smooch is the shimmering orange shade. I think both of these will be perfect shades for summer and I can't wait to get more uses out of them!

Out There Plumpling Lipgloss in Pink Sugar and Bluff

I thought i'd try out these two plumping lip glosses as a change from my usual choice of Soap And Glory Sexy Mother Pucker XL Lip Plumping Gloss. These were both also in the sale at 75p! The MUA lip gloss doesn't have an intense plumping sensation as the Soap and Glory, so it is perfect for those who could find Soap and Glory too much. Pink Sugar is the hot pink shade which makes the lips pop and for a more neutral shade I chose Bluff which is a brown/pink toned nude. These are perfect for creating a natural looking pout!

Blusher in Shade 1 and 3

I chose two shades of the blusher both also in the sale! Both of these aren't as pigmented as I like but are great for a more natural look. I chose Shade 1 which is warm pink/brown tone which I think would look great with a tan and Shade 3 which is paler peach shade. Both of these blended really well and will give your cheeks a natural glow.

Shimmer Kiss Bronzer in Bronzed Shimmer Kisses

I love that this bronzer block has four separate shades which can be used together or separately. It was a lot pinker than I was expecting when it arrived, however it is the perfect shade for a highlighter rather than a bronzer. You can also use all four different shades as eyeshadow as well!

Extreme Metallic Quad Eyeshadows in Glammed Up and Go Getter

Both of these eyeshadow blocks are great as you get four shades in one. All of the colours compliment each other so can be used on there own or blended together. These eyeshadows are also really well pigmented and the metallic finish will really make your eyes pop. I chose Go Ahead which is a warm pink/brown shades, you can see below on the left. The one on the right is Glammed Up which is pink/silver shades. These blocks will be great for when creating a smokey eye look as all the shades in each block blend really well together!

Lipstick in Persian Rose, Tulip, Juicy, Shade 12, Shade 5 and Shade 4

MUA lipsticks are such great value for money being priced at just £1 (some of these were even 50p in the sale), and you even get a small pot of lip balm at the end of each lipstick. I also think these are great to test out a colour to see if it suits you before you spend more money on a higher end product. In the swatch below the shades L-R are Shade 5, Persian Rose, Shade 4, Juicy, Shade 12 and Tulip. These pink shades are perfect for spring and summer!

MUA is definitely one of my favourite drugstore beauty brands with a range of products all at affordable prices. I am really impressed will all of the products I purchased and can't wait to start creating some make up looks with them.

I hope you all enjoyed my post and come back to read about some more of my beauty loves.

Love

Samantha

  1. The shops near me never really carry MUA but I love some of your picks! I love the bronzer, it's the perfect shade and the 'Persian Rose' colour is so pretty! Nice post :)
